During acceleration throttle became stuck. Vehicle started increasing in speed without the pedal being depressed. I initially held on the brakes for 3 consecutive compressions without any noticeable decrease in speed or RPM. Shifted car to lower gear along with brakes, still RPM and speed was increasing. Plan b was to shift into neutral and let the engine blow or shut vehicle off while driving on busy highway. In the midst of going through these actions vehicle stopped accelerating. Going to dealer first thing Monday morning, god only knows what would have happened if my wife and kids were in this vehicle when this negligent, unsafe, hazard occurred. This is totally uncalled for in a basically brand new vehicle, me, my son and the innocent pedestrians along the highway were in jeopardy when this safety incident occurred.

2008 Jeep Commander, 4.7L, QDII system. Vehicle experiences a sudden an unexpected loss of power and braking action while driving at speed. After loss of power, ABS, Stability Control, Brake, Check engine light, dash board warning lights illuminate and flash. Park assist and service 4wd error messages flash intermittently. Vehicle begins to buck and surge, accelerator becomes unresponsive. Has occurred at highway speed of 70mph, 50mph, 35mph. Loss of control of vehicle is sudden an unexpected with no advance warning. Vehicle has been to my local jeep dealer 4 times for repair (in under 1000 miles) multiple components replaced with no correction to issue.

I was in the freeway going 68-70 mph with my wife and kids where a red lightning Appears on the upper right corner, vehicle steering locked and tuned off while cars were coming. I was able to turn vehicle back on and move to the right of the freeway. Turns out it has a recall on it. I took it to Browning Dodge in Norca Ca. They say they fixed my recall I picked up my Jeep , it drove ok for a few days and it started doing the same malfunction. They said they are unable to work on my vehicle due to throttle body that was replaced by a professional mechanic.

Unknown. While my vehicle is set on cruise control and the weather is over 50 degrees or the air is running my cruise control will shut off. Warning lights abs, esp bas, & stability control will come on, then my cruise control won't work anymore. Now just this morning going up a hill my car wouldn't go pass 20 mph while my foot was to the floor basically. Then almost to the top of the hill it took off. The rmps went high Jeep shifted to next gear. Of course took my foot off petal and pushed brakes slightly. As slowing down it started shifting hard with high rmps still. I have done a new tune up and new transmission within the last 6 months. Before the new transmutation it was still doing this. The reason to replace the transmission was my Jeep just stopped completely moving. …

I was driving home from picking up my daughter from a school event when suddenly my car slowed down on its own down to 10 MPH. Then the car completely stopped. On the control console it only read "service park assist" and the drive position controls where all highlighted and boxed out (drnp). I lost all control of the vehicle other than turning the wheel. I tried to accelerate by pressing the gas and it just revved the engine and did nothing else. I swerved off the road and hit a median that took out the tire and left damage to the left of the car under carriage. I had to shift the gear into park and back to drive in order for the car to start up again. …

2007 Commander · 68,000 miles · Nov 2012 · crash

The problem started in January 2019. The vehicle started having idling issues, cold start in morning idles around 900, when put in reverse it dips to around 500 and wobbles back and forth while backing up, put in drive and it would be OK but would stall sometimes at stop sign- check engine light never came on. I had throttle body cleaned and fuel system service done and the engine light came on same day. Took it to the dealer for recalls and they replaced throttle body also. It drove OK for a day and I have the unstable idle back and the RPM jumps up while in drive but stopped at a light. About a week ago I am slowing down to stop at a light ahead and it starts vibrating like it is going to stall and the etc and TCS light came on and I shut it off and it cranked right back up and drove it the rest of the day with no issue. …

The first time it happened I was pulling out into busy traffic from a side street. I accelerated quickly and when I backed my foot off the peddle the car continued to accelerate. I tapped the peddle a couple times thinking it was caught on the floor matt (not).it back off and then it did it briefly again before correcting itself. This was all in a 10 sec. Time period..... The second time it happened I was on the highway. I stepped down to pass a car and the peddle moved to the floor and stayed there for about 15 seconds, released and went to the floor again for about 10 seconds. I had my foot on the break trying not to hit other cars ahead of me. Everytime I lift my foot off the brake we went faster. Then it corrected itself again. …
