What owners report
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while stationary and attempting to start the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle jerked back and forth. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated including the brake system lights. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with VSA modulator failure and brake booster failure. The vehicle was at the dealer awaiting the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,486.
On February 29, 2020, I was pulling into a parking spot at a nearby park at a low rate of speed. I began to apply the brake to stop the car. As I applied the brake, the car rapidly accelerated with smoke coming out of the steering column. I continued to put my foot on the brake to stop the car, but it continued to accelerate. I steered the car away from a small lake but smashed into a pine tree. The airbags deployed and the seatbelt worked. I received trauma to the chest by the airbag. I was taken to the hospital for evaluation and then released the next day. The state trooper confirmed that the engine was revving when he restarted it. This Honda crv received a recall notice in July, 2019 concerning a problem with the wiring harness and steering column. The parts did not come until September, 2019 and I then brought the car in for the repair. The parts were replaced. …
On September 25, 2019, I was approaching an intersection going 25 MPH. I applied the brakes to stop at the light, and the car kept moving. We collided with a car coming from the opposite direction, that was turning left. I stepped on the brakes and the car would not stop. We ended up driving over a sidewalk, into a parking lot. The car only stopped when I turned it off.
Car stalls when going up parking ramp, car dies at intersection, car does not sence objects when in reverse, a blue line appears when raining and I reverse obstruction view, electronics freeze and unable to use touch screen...usually happens when raining creating a safety hazard. Brakes failed (pedal froze) in reverse. Salesman said to let it happen several more times before making a service appointment. The car has been a problem ever since I got it earlier this year...there is only 4,000 miles on it and so far, they changed the battery...explanation I was given is that Honda has bad batteries. This after changing oil one week prior and service report indicated good battery. One week after servicing, the car died and had to be towed. The service people at Honda said it was all due to a bad battery. Brakes failed due to bad battery???? …
This morning as I was driving I went through a 4-way intersection. I was half way through the intersection when my car announced lane departure. At that time the vehicle shot over to the right and hit the curb at the end of the intersection. I shredded my tire, and had to place the spare on the vehicle. I have been to Honda multiple times for these electrical problems. While driving I have been go at a speed around 45-70 MPH, and the vehicle will flash brake. At that time the vehicle's brakes will lock up. There was no one in front of me for any the occasions. Honda told me to switch my ez pass responder to make sure that wasn't causing interference. I switched it, and it kept occurring. This morning the concerns I brought up at my last service about what if I get in an accident almost became a reality. Luckily there was no one on the corner waiting to cross the road. …
Vehicle has an issue with activating its collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) for no reason resulting in unnecessary slamming of the brakes. This has occurred at least five times over the last five months. It was first noted at around 12,000 miles and has happened at least 4 more times (we are now at 20,000 miles). In some instances, the vehicle was travelling at over 60 MPH on the highway and slammed on its brakes on its own. There were no objects in front of the vehicle and we were following a straight lane. Luckily, rear-ending accidents that could have resulted from this have been narrowly avoided. There was an instance in which the vehicle braked and an 18-wheeler behind it had to slam on its brakes and was swerving uncontrollably for at least 300 feet. …
Shortly after I bought my 2015 crv touring I noticed severe shaking while idling. I contacted the dealership and was told that it was a normal occurrence for a 4 cylinder vehicle and since I had traded in a v8 I was just not used to it. I took his word for it and have unfortunately become accustom to it but in the last month it has gotten much worse. Now it is shaking violently enough to where if you were driving instead of idling you May lose control of the vehicle. This has also not been my only safety issue with this vehicle. My other complaint is that on certain road types the car is extremely unstable. The first time I experienced this issue I actually pulled over and called my husband to let him know what was going on. …
Last year we leased a new 2015 Honda crv expecting the same quality experience of our previous cars. The vibration issue that everyone is reporting was noticeable the first day of driving the car and it is horrible, but it is also the least of my worries at the moment. I had the frightening experience of pulling into a parking space at a very low speed, braking, and the car suddenly going forward several months ago. I ran over a sign and hit a coworkers car while trying to stop the car (as I circled to the left). The car finally stopped when I lifted my foot off the brake and braked again. Had the car immediately towed to the Honda dealership where I got it. Almost a month later the car was returned to me and Honda reported they allegedly found nothing wrong. I had to assume they were right and it must have been something I did wrong because I had no proof otherwise. …
