Owner reports
Selected complaints filed with NHTSA by 2019 Honda CR-V owners, lightly cleaned up (personal details are redacted by NHTSA).
I own a 2019 Honda CR-V and have repeatedly experienced brake-system warning lights, starting problems, a hard brake pedal and unexpected braking/deceleration. I repeatedly reported these concerns to East Coast Honda, asked them to inspect the brakes, and showed photos/videos of warning lights, but many of my complaints were not documented on my repair orders. While driving, my vehicle unexpectedly braked/decelerated when there was no vehicle immediately in front of me, causing me to hit a curb. This was in July. On 9/16/26 at 52,113 miles, East Coast Honda finally documented that the electric parking brake warning was going on/off while driving along with the brake-system and battery lights. They found DTC U3003-16, Brake Booster Control Unit Power Circuit Low Voltage, and replaced the electric brake booster. During the same repair, the dealer performed a Honda CMBS software update. …
The contact owns 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while she was driving 75 MPH, she heard a noise coming from under the front passenger's side of the vehicle. As she continued to drive, she heard a metal plate hitting the freeway and dragging. The contact stated she was able to pull over into the emergency lane and was able to get help with securing the skid plates with a wire. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed her that the skid plates were damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while she was driving 65 MPH, she heard the sound of the metal plate hitting the roadway underneath the front passenger's side of the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the skid plates needed to be removed and that the clamps were loosened. …

The shield guard was removed from the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,322.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the driver-side sun visor had failed to remain in the upright position. I've raised two tickets with ticket numbers 13709173 and 13719701to Honda customer care, the issue is a rust spot on the trunk, there has been no external damage on the trunk and the issues seems to have originated from under the panel. I have been receiving no support from the Honda customer care team and the dealership the dealership was interested in knowing that if I bought this vehicle from them which I did not because I bought this vehicle from Pennsylvania and I moved cross country last year. I took the vehicle to the workshop and the service advisor was too keen on proving me wrong that this is an external damage to which I proved to him that it is not. Honda corporate customer care is also making excuses citing that I am the second owner, which I am not I'm raising this concern on behalf of my wife who is the first owner of this vehicle. …
Driver's side sun visor. This is a known issue to Honda. The original sun visor became rigid and very difficult to adjust. Honda replaced the original sun visor under warranty. The replacement has also become rigid and is very difficult to adjust. Now, the visor will not fold back into place and drops down, blocking my field of vision. I have the item available for inspection. Autonation Honda of Lewisville, Texas has confirmed this issue three times. Honda says this is a known issue and will not take further action to correct this, and since this is a common problem, there are no new sun visors available for sale, and they are currently on back order, for an unknown period of time.
The paint under the rear tailgate at the top is gone and surface rust has already started to come thru. Honda has had issues with several models of CRV's with different model years resulting in recalls. This model is having the same issue. The owners manual does show a 5 year warranty no mileage for surface rust if it is a " lack of craftsmanship " but Honda is not wanting to stand behind this. I leased this vehicle new and bought it last year as a "certified pre owned " which was supposed to start the new vehicle warranty over. Vehicle has never been in an accident. I know of at least one other person at my workplace with the same issue with his CRV.
My 2019 Honda CR-V just had it's rear glass exploded all of a sudden. It was a 85F degree day and condition seemed normal and nothing out of the ordinary. The rear window left and right sides had a huge fault crack all along the edges. The middle of the windshield popped a hole and then upon lifting the trunk because I was unaware of the glass, the hole increased in size and chunks of glass just rained everywhere. Honda claims an object struck the glass, but that would mean the main damage would concentrate around that area. Judging from the damage to the left and right edges, it would indicate the glass internally failed all together.
The paint under the rear hatch at the top where the roof meets the rear is gone and rust is already coming thru. I have reached out to Honda Corporation of America as well as Hendrick Honda in Concord, NC where I purchased the vehicle, however both have refused to help me. I leased the vehicle new and purchased it last April as a certified pre owned. It has a 5 year rust warranty as well as 1 year added to the new car warranty when I purchased it.
