I was pulling into the parking space after driving the vehicle for 45 mins (approx. 20 miles). When I was ready park the car and switch off the ignition, the car suddenly accelerated way too fast and hit the building in front. I was driving into the parking space at less than around 10 MPH as I had to make 3 turns within 100 feet before coming into vacant parking space. My leg was also in the break pedal as I made those turns after getting into the private property from il rte 83. I can definitely confirm that my leg was not in gas pedal as my right leg was on the break pedal to make those turns and stop the car in the parking space. It all happened in the matter of few seconds and there was no time to react. The car came to halt only after hitting the building. Both air bags deployed as soon as the car hit the building and there was heave smoke inside the car. …
My 2000 Honda Accord v6 3.0 vtec engine is having some issues after it heats up when I start it would do some erratic RPM changes on idle and then stall. If I manage to get it moving despite RPM drops, it runs great and would not stall again. Also, if I leave it for a while (like 15 minutes) and then come back, it usually starts like nothing happened I believe this is a defect with PCM and fuel pressure regulator the issue has to do with ethanol having a lower boiling point than traditional gas. This causes it to vaporize on the fuel rail when the car's warm, but no long pumping gas because it's off. When you go to re-start the car, instead of liquid gas, you are spurting on fumes on the rail. …
I recently purchased a 4 cylinder, 2000 Honda Accord, lx with 35000 miles on it. The next day, I noticed that the gas pedal was not responding to slight foot pressure when the car was first used in the morning. It seemed to be sticking and then suddenly respond to foot pressure. Because of this condition, the car would suddenly lurch forward when pressing on the accelerator pedal. I took the vehicle to the dealer who told me it was an inherent problem with the 2000 Accord and told me there was no remedy or recall for the problem. They didn't tell me that when I bought the car. I then took the car to a local auto service business whom I have been dealing with for over 15 years. They told me the problem was caused by a build-up of carbon on the accellerator linkage- especially in the 2000 Honda. …
Subject: Honda Accord - mileage/speedometer is not working properly dear sir, I have a Honda Accord 200 and its speedometer is not working properly. Compare with diff GPS, highway milestones etc. The speedometer is not correct. I have asked and compare with other Honda owners and they have noticed the same problem. I took/complain to car dealer and they have noticed the problem as well, but they cannot fix it, its a manufacturing defect. While compare with GPS speed and speedometer on car, car's speedometer is running faster by 5 MPH more. I understand from an internal source, that it's a hondas dirty practice to convince customer that Honda provides better mileage efficiency while comparing other cars. Can you look in to it, please?[redacted]
Tl contact owns a 2000 Honda Accord. After the vehicle was started, the air bag and service engine indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and they performed a diagnostic, but found no defects. Immediately following, the contact noticed that the cooling fan would remain activated for long periods of time after the vehicle was turned off. She also stated that she could only place half a tank of gasoline in the vehicle. The vehicle would stall when it had a full tank of fuel. The vehicle was driven to the dealer a second time for a diagnostic and no defects were found. The cause of the failures have not been determined. The manufacturer has not been notified and the vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage was 199,259 and failure mileage was 180,000.
I fear my vehicle is being denied a recall due to it by Honda. My vehicle failed its annual emissions test on aug. 22. The state sent me a notice informing me that my 2000 Honda Accord was part of a recall class in 2004 that was connected to an emissions problem. I received no alert from Honda about such a recall. When I asked Honda about it this week, they told me my car was not part of the recall class. And they claimed that they could determine this by my car's VIN -- that the VIN indicated it was not part of the recall class. So I am asking for your help to determine if my vehicle is part of the recall. Based on my review of your "2004 annual summary of emission related recall" (http://www.epa.gov/otaq/cert/recall/420b05022.pdf), it seems like it is part of the class. Thank you for your help.
In May of 2008 my 2000 Honda Accord lost power while driving and would not restart. All of the gas ran out from the front of the car. The computer board had gone out. The computer board was replaced by another mechanic and then was towed to the Honda dealership to be reprogrammed. Since then it has gone back and was diagnosed with misfires. The coil packs , plugs and wires, fuel injectors, EGR valve all have been replaced. The car is still spitting and sputtering like it is running on 4 cylinders and it is a v6. I have researched and there seems to be alot of these problems. Also the SRS light stays on and you can turn the car off and remove the key without the car being in park. I never received any kind of recall from the dealerships on this recall. This car was bought new in 2000.
Surge on acceleration. From a cold start my car excels normally. If make a stop for a few minutes or a couple of hours get in and it accelerates to about 20-25mph and dies. If I hold the pedal it will accel after a few second, if I pump the pedal a couple of time it will accel. Cruising at 65+ I can feel a slight jerking. This all started after getting a check engine light and code po131 to replace the primary o2 sensor. A new sensor was the OEM equivalent from autozone. If I disconnect the o2 sensor the problem goes away. Car is well maintained and has 228,000 miles.
I have difficult starting the Honda, it happened more than ten times. It only happen when the car is warm - never a cold morning. You can force it to start by putting more gas thru the accelerator. But when I put the car in drive it will die on the rolling. This almost caused me an accident. I took the car to the dealer, the Honda dealer cannot find any thing wrong with it. I search on the database and it might be related to a vapor lock issue with the Honda Accord 2000 v6. (odi-719977). Please investigate and issue some hazard warning to the public.
My 2000 Honda Accord se start to developing a problem during the last sevreral months. When it is started first time in the morning after parked overnight, the throttle of the car feels stucked. I have to press the throttle really hard to get rid of the stuck, by doing so, the vehicle will accelarate absurdly because of the hard pressing on the throttle pedal(I.e., at first it is stucked, when you push the throttle pedal really hard, the throttle will get loose suddenly and the vehicle starts to accelerate absurdly)
