What owners report
The contact owned a 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 MPH and making a right turn onto the driveway, the vehicle unintendedly pulled to the left. The contact stated that while attempting to turn the steering wheel back to the intended direction, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly, and the brakes and the steering wheel were inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle crashed through the garage door, hit cabinets on the side, and drove on top of the cabinets, 3 inches from the ground, and stopped. The driver's side and passenger's side knee air bags deployed. The contact stated that the driver's side knee air bag deployed and broke the plastic underneath the dashboard, which injured the contact's legs. …
When car has been stopped, in traffic or parking lot, the parking/emergency brake has engaged automatically (NOT engaged manually or intentionally by driver) and will not disengage automatically when accelerator is pressed to go forward. It is difficult to disengage the brake when this occurs. This has happened on 3 occasions. The safety risk for crash includes being hit from behind if brake engages unintentionally in traffic or on highway, or potentially sudden unintentional stopping while driving at moderate or high speeds. The issue was reported to dealer after twice occurring and full DTC check performed. Dealer says all diagnostics normal and could not identify any problems with parking/emergency brake or Collision Mitigation Braking System. The issue has occurred one time since the dealer inspection. …
2023 and 2024 Hybrid Accord vehicles liberally activate brake lights while cruise control is active under even the slightest level of deceleration creating an appearance of a "brake check" when there is no brake check. A traditional car's cruise control, for instance when set to 60MPH allows you to depress the accelerator, speed up to 65MPH to pass a vehicle, and then release the accelerator. The car then slows down naturally and begins controlling at 60MPH. The deceleration is gentle and the brakes are not applied and the brake lights do not illuminate. The accord hybrid under the same conditions will apply some level of regeneration to slow the vehicle and also activate the brake light to vehicles behind. …
Purchased new in Feb 2024. On June 26, 2024, at 1,207 miles all safety features became inoperable while driving and all failure lights on dash ignited. I took the car to the dealer, and they said the ECM controlling the ADAS systems failed and needed to be replaced, this required replacement of the Rack and Pinion because they are integrated. I got the car back and immediately noted a difference in handling from the new car I purchased in February, particularly with the lane departure and lane keeping option; the car consistently drifts over the lane lines when the LKAS system is engaged, and sometimes realizes the car is leaving the lane and will automatically self-correct by a hard right or left into the adjacent lanes. I took it back to the dealer and the tech took it for a ride and came back saying the car was trying to kill him. …
From the beginning of my lease, the vehicle experienced repeated malfunctions of its safety and proximity sensor systems, including warning alerts and sensor-related failures. The vehicle was taken multiple times to an authorized Honda dealership for diagnosis and repair. Despite these repeated service visits, the safety sensor issues were never properly repaired or resolved. I later discovered that the vehicle was subject to an active safety recall, which was never disclosed to me, even though the vehicle was serviced at the dealership on multiple occasions. Subsequently, the vehicle was involved in an accident that resulted in a total loss. Based on the unresolved sensor failures and the undisclosed recall, I believe these safety defects may have contributed to the accident. …
I experienced 8 separate malfunctions in the CMBS in 2 days. The systems problems still persists. And it is obvious that Honda is aware of the problem since nothing has changed in 10 years according to reports of the first incidences of the CMBS failures. I drove on the NAFTA super highway which is congested with semi-trucks. As described in the owners manual pg 413 it is obvious there is 1)radio waves interruptions, the car shutters just as the rear of the cab is approached, mostly like the transponders location, 3 occurances this trip but many more in the past 6 months since I purchased the vehicle. 2)Reflection from a trailer pallet bundle wrapped in clear plastic, it was obvious the glare from headlights created a reflection and caused the system to shutter the brakes and flash the BRAKE sign. 3) while driving into a curve with yellow reflective arrows caused the brakes to shutter. …
My daughter just bought this 2022 Honda Accord on 04/29/2023 (in her name and my name). On 6/28/2023, she was headed home, driving North, and was coming to the busy intersection of a County Road and Highway. She went to brake, but the brakes did not respond. In order to avoid hitting another vehicle, she swerved and blew through the intersection. Thank goodness she did not hit anyone in the intersection AND no one hit her. It could have been so bad. She did come to rest in a farmer's field on the Northeast corner of the intersection. According to the shop that is currently processing the claim with State Farm and investigating the repairs and damage, many error lights (about 10) are lit up on the dash as relates to the brakes, forward collision warning, and emergency braking. They indicated that they need to work with Honda to clear, verify, and repair everything related to those codes. …
