The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start as intended. The contact stated that an intermittent warning light for EVAP failure was illuminated. The contact performed an inspection of the vehicle and noticed that the fuel pump fuse was blown and had melted into the fuse box. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
Dodge Durango Rt has developed the Evap system failure. After stopping to refuel the gas tank the engine will not restart till after several attempts and even after restarting it idles erratic and sputters even to point of a miss and shuts off. Then it will restart and slowly clear up, and operate normal till the next refuel. I've had it into several repair shops and dealerships only to have to purchase parts and pay for repair and experience the issue again. Considering it's fuel vapor related and could cause a explosive or flash fire event in the dry summer season possibly if the vapors become a large enough volume under the hood or in a closed space.
I am having starting issues, combined with stalling when it full power or even partial. I reviewed the recalls that were listed for this era vehicle. And it lines up with the fuel relay or fuse I can't remember which one it was that was happening on similar makes models and this year. I believe this should be involved in that recall, but it's not showing that it is.
*2nd reporting of same issue* Intermittent failure to start/stopping occurring again. Fuel pump and TIPM was replaced and issue is still occurring about 8 months later. 2011-2013 durangos had a recall for this issue. I believe the 2014s should be included as well. This is very dangerous and a safety hazard should vehicle stalls and unable to start.
My 2014 Durango has been making a knocking noise on the front driver side for over 3 years now. I took my car in several times and to different dealers. It was always the same story, 'we couldn't find anything' I even had one dealership tell me 'sorry we can't figure it out, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.' are you kidding me!! My vehicle has been to the dealer over 5times for the same problem and it's never been fixed. Now it's out of warranty and out of their hair, just what they wanted. I need to help on what to do in this situation. Another issue I had was with the fuel pump. They fixed some problem I had a few years back, they actually broke my gas tank door after working on this issue. My car has once again come back with this same problem. Today my car won't start and is unfortunately out of warranty. …
This specific model I'm currently leasing is a limited model. I've had it for maybe 3 years. According to the manual, were only to use e85 fuel so that it could run smoothly. Unfortunately, not many gas stations where I live carry that specific gas type and not many gas stations in florida and other states alone, provide e85 fuel we are given no choice but to use the alternative gas. It's becoming a nuisance when we want to travel. When the check engine light first appeared the gas gauge also stopped functioning. The truck isn't able to reach a full tank. Something is preventing it. This is becoming an inconvenience for me and my family to have to search and go to just 2 gas stations miles apart from each other to be able to put gas in! Majority of the times the gas stations that do offer this type of gas are down due to maintenance. …
So the first time I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my Durango. I attempted to start the Durango and it just kept turning but would not start. At first I though it was my fuel pump. Then I looked at the fuse and the fuel pump motor fuse was a little brown on the pin. So I replaced it with the horn fuse 20a and I when I turned it to the on position I could hear the fuel pump. During the second time this happened I was I a hurry to work. I got my kids in to drop them off and I got and and tried starting it. Same thing it just keep turning but no start. I check the fuse again and the fuse is really burnt but not blown. So I wait for my wife to get home so I can buy another 20a fuse. I replace the 20a fuse and it starts. Third time this happened yesterday 6-30-20. I checked the fuse and the fuse still looks good. …
3 weeks back I have noticed my car is not getting at first start. It is carryon cranks, but do not give start but second or third attempt only it get start. With remote start it donot make trouble to me. I got checked my battery, they says battery is good and May be the problem with fuel pump and replacement is very costly. I contacted my friends who own Dodge Durango, most of them said their car have the same problem specially 2014 model. Funny things is that this problem appeared to everyone in the last few months only. Look like this a manufacturers defect. Kindly request to recall this batch and advice company to get replacement at free of cost. My kind request is that if many a car owner faceing same problem then company should address it as serious matter. …
I have had the same issue with my Dodge for 2 plus year. I will go to fill up my gas tank and after a few minutes gas starts flowing back out of the tank. I have taken it to the dealership three times for repair. The first two times they have told me they replaced sensors, well it has happened again. Now they are telling me they have to replace the entire fuel system, tank and all. They have stated that my car is unsafe to drive and the dealer will not give it back to me to drive because it is completely contaminated and the entire canister needs to be replaced . They are waiting on the part to come in but that will not be till mid July because they have 4200 on backorder. This is clearly a major issue with Dodge Durango and no one at the dealership or Chrysler is trying to help fix this issue. It needs to be looked at! …
I had significant oil leaks in my driveway for the last few months. I noticed my check engine light was on at 105,000 miles. I took it to a mechanic to get serviced. They replaced transmission fluid (purchased at Dodge dealership) and serviced any other areas. I received the vehicle back and noticed it was still leaking a great amount. I took it back to the mechanic thinking the issue was not solved. The mechanic then advised me that there is an oil leak next to the oil cooler and when parked at an incline, it begins to leak profusely. He said this is very common with Dodge Durango's and reached out to the dealership to inquire about recalls. They indicated there is no current recall. This is very disappointing. I have seldom driven the car since the pandemic and have upkeep the maintenance on the vehicle. I am the second owner and purchased the vehicle in 2016.
