On several occasions, I noticed the seatbelt holding my son's carseat in place had come unlatched. To the best of my knowledge, nothing was done to cause it to open. I own a 2000 Plymouth grand Voyager and recently read that apparently, this is a problem with my vehicle and its generation 3 seatbelts. I contacted a dealer this morning to request replacement of the 7 seatbelts and was told they don't do that. I was asked if there was a problem with them and I mentioned that they had spontaneously unlatched and that I'd been reading of problems with that type of seatbelt. I was then told that that was a legal issue and I needed to contact the corporate office, which I will do this afternoon.
My husband was installing my son's car seat. When he grabbed the shaft of the seat belt (the part attached to the floor), it came completely out. Apparently the metal part that is attached to the seat is completely gone. The dealership is telling me I'm responsible for buying a new seat because my warranty is expired.
Dt : the consumer is not happy because the seat belts do not lock in during normal driving conditions. The child is able to lean forward with the seat belt on. The child was also able to get out of the seat belt.
When placing vehicle from park to reverse or from park to drive vehicle can be placed out of gear without foot depressed on the brake pedal. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer linked the problem to the driveshaft or an electrical problem. Consumer had problems with the passenger side seat belt which had too much slack. Please provide any further details.
While driving 45mph another vehicle made a "u" turn without warning. Voyager hit other vehicle which pulled over to the right, rearending vehicle. Driver's side was damaged. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. 2 rear passengers were thrown forward into the bucket seats, even though both were buckled in. Neither shoulder belts restrained the 100lb child or the 70lb child. Paramedics arrived on scene & treated everyone. Driver in hospital next day for torn ligaments & in need of therapy.
At the request of www.unsafebelts.com, I have contact daimlerchrysler and now your organization regarding my concern of defective gen3 seat belts in the middle and rear seats of my 1998 Plymouth Voyager. Both my children always use their seat belts, and sit in the rear and/or middle seats. The possibility of the seat belt accidently unlatching when most needed is of utmost concern to me. I would appreciate this complaint (concern) being on record. Thank you for your time.
To whom it May concern my name is katie olson I drive a 1997 Plymouth Voyager van with the built in car seats. That is what sold me the van I thought they would be safer for my children. Last week I took my kids to the park and I went to release the belt and it retracted to my two year old daughters neck. I could not get it off of here I had to cut it off after a half hour of trying to loosen it. It was so tight I couldn't put my finger between her throat and the belt. This has never happened before but I talked to a lawyer and they told me to contact you. Thank you for your time.
While driving on rural road police officer made an illegal u turn right in front without signaling or activating emergency lights, causing the consumer to strike the front left corner of the panel on vehicle. Upon impact, neither airbag deployed and seat belt didn't retract. Took vehicle to the dealer. They found a short in the heater control module, which caused computer failure in the body control module, disabling the air bags.
