While driving down a steep hill the brakes went to the floor and the red "no brake" light came on. I was going around 30 miles an hour and luckily was in the country. I drove into a farmers field and put on the emergency brake. The dealership replaced the brake equipment including the master cylinder even though nothing was showing on their computer. A few days later I was driving home from work and came to a stop sign, put on brakes and they went to the floor again. I hit the vehicle in front of me. This problem doesn't occur all the time and they are not able to recreate the problem. I am waiting to see what happens with this from the dealer and their insurance co. I will also most likely file a complaint with daimler-Chrysler. This vehicle was a lemon buy back for braking problems that were supposedly fixed in 2000.
Front disc brake pad (specifically the exterior pad on the left side of the vehicle in my case) wears very fast relative to the rear at a rate of once every 10K or fewer miles for the front versus once in 125K miles for the rear. My problem is so severe that I have to watch wear closely and will swap the left front pads with the right front pads to keep from having to get a new set every 10K miles. Chrysler mechanic inspected brakes and said that everything was moving correctly but suggested I change rotors and brake pads. I told him I just did within the last 10K miles.. He suggested I use Chrysler products. I told him the oe was Chrysler and they too had the same problem. …
Steel hydraulic brake line to rear brakes ruptured while driving (braking), resulting in complete loss of brake fluid and braking ability. Inspection showed brake line was corroded through. Rupture was located in solid tubing under vehicle, below driver's seat, where the brake line turned and headed towards rear of vehicle. Vehicle was safely brought to a stop using parking brake. Chrysler dealer service department replaced 4 rear brake lines, 2 flex lines, booster and master cylinder. The corroded tubing was replaced with flexible steel wrapped lines. …
Dt: contact stated while driving the interior light dimmed, and the ABS light on the dashboard came on. The entire electrical system failed and the vehicle stalled. The problem occurred without warning. The dealer has not been contacted yet. The manufacturer informed her that she needed to have the vehicle looked at. The vehicle will have to be towed to the dealer.
We have a 98 Plymouth Grand Voyager we have owned it 5-6 years. For about the last 2 years sometimes the brake pedal pulls down on its own and sticks for a few moments. It will do this when your foot is on the pedal and not pressing down at all, but it also does it when your foot is not over the pedal at all! I could be going 45 MPH and it will pull down on its own and come back up in a few seconds. It is an very occasional problem so we never know when it will happen, unfortunately it has not done it while at the mechanics. We have had it looked at several times and worked on 3 times and they can't find the problem. I am very concerned this could be dangerous but we can't seem to find the problem.
Chrysler designed the power distribution block cover to hold water and retain moisture. This causes the connections to corrode and fail leading to failure of critical, electrically-operated, safety systems including the airbag safety restraint system and the anti-lock braking system. Chrysler has been aware of the error and redesigned the power distribution box. However, they did not recall and offer to replace the failed component.
Takata recall, serpentine belt has shredded at least six times and just came off three times ,tensioner replaced three times, idler pulley twice, when belt shreds wires sever and van stops abruptly, windshield wipers stop abruptly hesitating before resuming, sway bar links need replaced,o2sensors check engine light to come on,cv axles failing replaced right twice, hub assembly and brake calipers miss aligned, engine mounts failed and needed, replaced, airbag and ABS lights on dashboard panel fuse blowing, taillights possible short causing brake light to fail, battery needing to be disconnected. …
VIN #p4gp44r9vr169548 '97 Plymouth Grand Voyager this vehicle has been to both d & e Dodge in wilmington, nc and to national Dodge in jacksonville, nc for repairs to the brakes, and the brakes still do not work. The brake system fluid, drums, rotars, master cylinder - everything seems to be OK, they say, when we pick it up, but, when you apply the brakes, brakes are "spongy" and sometimes there are no brakes at all. It seems pretty fair for a short period of time and then becomes increasingly worse. This has been appearing for approximately one year. Please recommend someone in the Chrysler organization that can fix the brakes on this vehicle. It is very dangerous, and we are tired of this problem. I am afraid my family is going to be killed and perhaps kill someone else, too. …
