What owners report
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle had experienced "Phantom Braking" causing the braking system to erroneously activate and the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure the Forward Collision Avoidance system malfunction message was displayed. Additionally, while driving at night, the high beam headlights failed to automatically activate as designed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 133,321.
While driving on an interstate off-ramp going approx. 35 MPH, then turning left, my 2020 Nissan Rogue sv AWD, suddenly and automatically came to an almost complete stop. I was able to cruise to the shoulder and avoid being hit by a vehicle behind me.
The speedclips which hold the Map Light in place are formed incorrectly. The interior teeth that retain the Map Light's molded retention tabs are bent too aggressively. Over time, in both our 2017 Rogue and 2019 Rogue, road vibrations caused the teeth to gnaw entirely through the plastic. This causes the Map Light to fall down and "deploy" suddenly into the driver's field of vision. When the map light falls, it not only startles the driver, it obstructs approximately 40-50% of the windshield. Nissan considers this a "cosmetic" issue and thus, it is not covered under ANY Nissan extended warranty. The cost to have it replaced with another part that will STILL fail in the exact same manner is over $1,200. This is a SERIOUS life safety issue since it is likely to fall at high speeds when the car naturally vibrates the most. …
The automatic emergency braking system on my 2019 Nissan Rogue will come on and stop the car dead in its tracks for no reason or no obstruction in the way that should cause this to happen. I feel it is very unsafe as this has now happened to us while driving three times. and one day the warning indicator lights came on, but they don't stay on. It has been checked at Bristol Honda dealership in Bristol TN. and they did confirm that there is a malfunction with the brakes, however they also said they can't fix the problem, and we just purchased the vehicle from them May 30, 2022, just 4 months ago. also, the bright lights turn off and won't stay on but according to the dealership they turn off because it is too bright outside, which is absurd since I only use bright lights at night when it is dark. I feel this is very unsafe and could be deadly if not repaired or replaced.
On 3/5/24 I had a collision with a large deer. The front of the car was impacted. The air bags did not deploy. I was driving at 50 mph. I have sent my concern to Nissan but they have not responded. Approximately $10,000 in damage was done.
While driving at approximately 15-20 mph, my vehicle suddenly started beeping and displayed a quick warning message on the dashboard before the brakes locked up on their own. The incident lasted only a few seconds, but it was extremely alarming. This same issue has now happened twice, both times in the exact same location on the same road, driving at about the same speed. The first incident was roughly around [redacted], the second incident was [redacted]. On both occasions, I had my [redacted] twin daughters in the car with me, and it frightened all of us. Thankfully, there were no vehicles directly behind me either time, otherwise it could have resulted in a rear-end collision. I believe there were cars ahead of me, but they were far enough away that I don't think they triggered the sensors. …
My car wouldn't start it would turn off as I'm sitting at a light, all my lights would blink on and off it was making a clicking sound then it finally turned on and my tire pressure light came on and a triangle with an explanation came on. I received a recall notice on my car, so I took it in and they told me it was the transmission and had to fix it they had my car for a whole week. I received my car back and about 2 months later my car continued to have the exact same problem. They fixed nothing!!!! My cars in the shop right now as we speak because of the same problem.
Over the last month, I continue to experience the front end collision crash sensor erroneously engaging, almost daily. I also get a front end sensor malfunction warning. The sensor was supposedly replaced twice by the dealership while under warranty, however, I still continue to have these errors pop up. I also hear, when backing up, a rubbing sound like the suspension is bad on the rear of the vehicle. I notified the dealership, but they told me there was no issue found. The driver's seat constantly squeaks, like something is lose underneath (like the bolts attaching it to the frame). There is also a squeaking noise that comes from the back of the vehicle. The dealership told me the sound was coming from the panaramic sunroof, and they tightened the bolts, however, the noise remains. Frequently water becomes trapped in the rear tail lights after getting a car wash. …
