Subject: Vehicle Safety Complaint - 2020 Nissan Murano, VIN [redacted] Dear NHTSA, I am submitting a formal Vehicle Safety Complaint regarding my 2020 Nissan Murano (VIN: [redacted] ) due to unresolved safety defects that match existing recalls. I have been notified of two recall campaigns affecting my vehicle model: 1. NHTSA Campaign 21V402000 (Steering knuckle/rear axle housing defect). 2. NHTSA Campaign 21V170000 (Transverse link/ball joint defect). Despite these active recalls being published in NHTSA's database, Nissan Consumer Affairs has denied that my VIN is included, even though my vehicle is exhibiting the exact safety defects described: [insert brief description of your issues, e.g., steering instability, noises, or loss of control symptoms]. …
I am having transmission issues. The car vibrates when I am driving and accelerating between 15-50MPH. I also have water coming in my vehicle and causing mold from the passenger side. I have taken the car to 3 dealers and I have contacted Nissan. There has not been a resolution yet. I had the transfer case repaired twice within less than a month at a Nissan dealer. The vibrating/growling noise is still present. I simply want my car to be fixed
1. Drivers seat rocks as if it is broken. Could cause problem with airbag deploying in a crash. 2. Rear shocks/struts seam to be weak or collapsed. Makes vehicle sit lower in rear, this causes the sun to reflect in drivers eyes blinding the driver. Our vehicle is silver in color. I
My tire light is on a my 2012 nissian murano. It flashes at startup, with the light on, telling me I have low tire pressure. I put air evenly in all four tires. The light still remains on; how can all four TPMS go bad? I wouldn't know if i have a leak or low pressure due failed TPMS. My check engine light is on due to air/fuel ration on bank 1 sensor 1. This issue is causing poor fuel economy and filing emissions.
The progressive rattling/ shaking from the steering wheel has led to some close calls driving on multi lane roads the curve to the left at all. I've never had a single service light turn on even though steering and wheel issues were apparent. Every bump and cranny on the road is felt causing disturbance in ability to steer especially during in town driving.
We experienced a noise in the rear suspension area of the vehicle while driving, which prompted us to take the car to a Nissan repair facility for an inspection. We were informed the rear subframe components were rusted and needed replacing. We bought this car new in 2011 and it has under 85,000 miles. The car was garaged for most of its life and now needs several thousand dollars of rear subframe suspension parts and labor to make it safe to drive. Just a year year earlier we had to replace the front lower control arms also at the cost of several thousand dollars. These suspension component parts should not fail this early in the life of this Nissan Murano SUV, especially a car that has less than 85,000 miles, that was properly maintained and in excellent condition. …
I was backing out of my drive when we heard a loud sound from the rear of the car. We though I had ran over something. As I drove we could hear a thumping sound from the rear of the car when we drove over a bump in the road.. It became louder the more I drove sounding like a hammering sound. I crawled under the car and discovered the frame had rusted allowing a bolt and bracket to move. This is causing the metal thumping sound we heard. I have parked the car and stopped driving it due to the possibility of the frame and suspension separating while moving. This is my wife's car and she loves it but we can't operate it due to the safety hazard. I searched this issue and have found many other Nissan Murano owners that have experienced the same issue. This is a serious safety issue Nissan should have addressed with their vehicles and with ours. …
