My 2009 Nissan Murano locks on rear doors for both passenger and driver side started failing intermittently and I could only open them by reaching in from front and manually flipping lock. Now they are not working at all. I brought them to my service mechanic and he quoted approx. $500 for each! I don't have that kind of money to put into this car. Recently I had my elderly parents visiting and realized how dangerous it was that my mother could not get out of the car on her own as the rear passenger door won't open from the inside. But when I "alarm/lock" the car, the doors will still open and the alarm will sound. But there is no safety of having locked doors the driver side door still works but there is a miserable rattle inside. This is the most annoying, unsafe and poor quality problem I haveever had with a car. …
I was involved in an accident where the other driver failed to yield and we crashed, the airbag deployed and when I came to I heard my son screaming then I tried to open driver side door and it would not open the unlock button did not work either nor did the window. I then tried the passenger side and those did not work either so I then hoped in the back seat and unlatched my son and took the baby out his seat and covered their faces because of the smoke tried to open the back doors and windows and they did not work either we were trapped in the car and I then tried to kick the windows out however, was not successful it was not until a bystander saw the ricking of the car and a few men had to break the windows out with a crow bar and a hammer..should this have happened the car is a 2009 Nissan Murano why did the electrical system fail.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the rear door latch would not open. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 138,000.
The battery has been replaced twice in the vehicle and it has less than 35,000 miles on it. The first replacement was done when the car was only about 6 months old and I just recently had to have the battery replaced again. The second battery was supposed to be an 84,000 mile battery and was under warranty. However, when I was driving it, the car died on me and would not start again. The battery had less than 26,000 miles on it. Nissan fought us on the replacement even though it was under warranty, but we finally got another one put in. We are on our 3rd battery in less than 3 years. This same vehicle had an engine mount crack at 32,000 miles and has also had the radiator replaced at 34,000 miles. It has been in the shop 4 times now in the last 2 1/2 months. When the radiator went out, the gauges did not even say that the car was running hot. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the rear passenger side door would not unlock from the inside or outside with a key. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,000.
My wife drives a 2005 Nissan Murano and recently we have been having problems with the door locks. There are times when they work and other times they don't. I'm concerned that if my wife is in an area of some concern that there is a way to lock all the doors. In an emergency there is no way to know if the doors will unlock when you need them to. Since the only door with a key hole is the drivers door, if there should be a situation were my wife and daughter should need to rush in the car, this would be a problem. I took the car in to the shop to get it checked out and they told me that the door actuators needed to be replaced. The gentleman told me that the actuators aren't sold separately but that the hole assembly would need to be purchased at $409.00 each. This appears to be a way to greatly over charge. …
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano. I took my car to the shop today because the doors are not locking or unlocking. My hatch only works some of the time as well. I found out that the actuactor is out on all the doors. This is crazy are out on a car that only has 79K miles on it and is 11 years old. The cost will be about 2K to get fixed. This is a safety issue, I have three small kids. Having to them stand outside while I climb inside to manually unlock the doors is unssafe. If I leave the car unlocked at night when we are out, that leaves us vulnerable for someone entering the car and hiding in it until we return. Once we get in we manually lock the doors but if there is an accident and we needed to quickly exit or emergency responds need to quickly get us out of the car, it is not possible. It is going to cost 2K to get this fixed. …
My door lock for my passenger front side does not unlock. I have no idea why but I have to manually unlock this now. I have researched this online and spoke with my local Nissan dealerships. This is a safety issue and should be repaired by a recall. Please advise.
