After putting my front driver side window down completely, it will not go back up. The motor runs, it makes a sound, but window does not move. I was forced to leave my car parked in a medical center parking garage during my work shift 4:00 pm to 12:00 am. Of course, it was completely unsafe for me, a young female, to return to my open car and had to be escorted by a security officer. I then drove the 25 freeway miles home completely exposed to the elements. Having googled the malfunction, I learned that this is a very common issue with the 2006 Jeep Liberty and is very expensive to repair. I am astounded to also learn that Chrysler did not issue a recall on this mechanical failure. As a college student, I am not financially able to incur this expense, nor do I think I should be required to, and am asking that Chrysler perform repairs on all four windows at not cost to me. Please advise. …
Over the course of the nine years I have owned this Liberty, each of the 4 power windows have failed multiple times.the windows simply fall down freely without warning, and can not be placed back in an upright, closed position. This has occurred twice on each front window, and on each the left/rear and right rear windows it has happened three separate times. Though this is an ongoing and known safety and security issue, there has been no service bulletin or recall as far as I know. Chrysler/Jeep customer service and local dealer are unwilling to recognize the problem or cover the repairs. Jeep quotes us over $600 for the repair before reducing the estimates, due only to my persistent complaints. I understand there has been a class action suit brought by others on this very issue.

Left rear window fell with a loud bang. Car has never been off road and garaged. Mileage around 30,000. Dealer fixed it for a charge of $550.00. I have been on line and find that this is a continuing problem because of defect in the window controller. This is a defect and it is wrong for customers to be saddled financially with this issue.
