Component (diode) on 60 pin PCM has a short causing injector number 6 to stick wide open. Result is a cylinder compressing fuel which can lead to explosion, also raw fuel escaping out of the tail pipe and large amounts of smoke. Gasoline pulls the oil off of cylinder wall causing excessive friction and engine damage along with catalytic converter damage. If rear ended when injector is sticking open could cause explosion or fire! I have confirmed this on 3 other 93-95 Grand Cherokee OBD I models as well. Jeep was idling near someone welding and the injector stuck open and started a fire. Fire was exstinguished immediately with dirt and water. No physical damages occurred just a scare. I moved injector 6 plug to 8, then 8 stuck open, upon putting pressure on the computer connector I realized the injector would operate normally again. …

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4x4 keeps stalling all the time. Rough idle when started and check engine light comes on all the time. Also, alarm is defective and flashes the exterior lights and honks the horn anytime any of the doors are opened or closed and the power lock button is pushed to lock or unlock. The engine temperature gauge doesn't even show a reading and the factory infinity gold cd radio turns on but no sound. My Jeep has a warranty on it right now and these problems have been ongoing since 2/25/06. I've had my Jeep to the original dealer where I got it, which has ase certified techs, and also to two authorized Jeep dealerships with no resolution to any of these problems and to date have been charged over $450.00 between the three dealerships. …

The evaporator leakes into the passenger compartment when the ac works, have been told that the accumulator is bad so it will not hold a charge. The speedometer will work sporadically, sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't work at all, and the sometimes it bounces around, though the speed control still works even when speedometer does not. The speed sensor has been replaced and that has not made any difference. The clock on the radio as well as other display items will sometimes light up and other times not, like the wires are coming loose or something. The rear axle housing is bent even though it hasn't pulled anything heavy and has only been driven on paved roads for the 3 years before. Engine leaks oil from the intake manifold gasket and other areas. Have had to have the input and output seals replaced on the transmission twice.

The exhaust header cracked on my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 6 cylinder > > engine due to a design flaw. The dealer replaced the part with a repair kit. The dealer said a lot of these parts are > > cracking. It could cause carbon monoxide to enter the passenger > > compartment. It cost me $600 to fix when Jeep should recall this part > > and pay me the $600 I paid to fix it. The design engineer put too much > > stress on the part in the design. I am a licensed mechanical engineer > > with over 40 years of experience so I know what I am talking about. I > > can email you a picture of it. I e-mailed daimler Chrysler customer assistance on the problem and they said since the Jeep was out of warranty they would not pay for it. My brother has the same problem. The cracked part is available and I can e-mail a picture of it.

I heard its common in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Ill be driving down the road fine and then the car just shuts off with out any warning and wont start back up for at least an hour, but it dies about 2-5 minutes later! It dies in the middle of an intersection while stopped at a light or waiting to turn. It has died when turning a corner into traffic making me almost cause an accident many of times. I do not drive this vehicle any more do to the danger it May cause to myself and others on the road. Iv taken it in to be fixed an no one can find what's wrong with it! I know it has a problem and the more I hear about it so does everyone else who has ever owned this type of vehicle, so why cant anyone pen point it..and why hasn't it been taken care of..

It acts as though it is shifting gears but it isn't, then within 5 miles it dies. We have replaced plugs, wires, battery, all kinds of sensors, the computers and still it will not go 10 miles before shutdown. Then I have to wait 15 minutes, before it will start back up to even go down the road. I live 30 miles from a dealership to even have it put on the computer. It would take me all day to drive it to get there just to hopefully find out what is wrong. I can't afford to keep trying this part and that part just to even try to get to work. When it is below 65 degrees outside then I can drive it upto 20 miles, but that is even taking a chance in getting stranded.

My husband and son left the house and was driving about a block away when a car pulled up and yelled your truck is on fire get out. They pulled over and got out and ran and within seconds the entire truck was in flames, before the fire department got there the truck was completely in flames and door were melting off. Thank god my family got out, however I have been calling the special investigation dept. On recall notice everyday under case no. 25700953 and everyday no one will assist me. I am now without a truck and no one will assist.

After years of few problems, my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee stopped running. The engine died and could not be re-started. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic who worked on it for years and he is unable to find the problem. The computerized diagnostics show that there is no problem with the electronics but the mechanic can not get it operating.

1. When ever I drive my Jeep Grand Cherokee for an extended time it starts to shudder. 2. After I accelerate to 50 to 60 and let off the gas a little the car starts shuddering. 3 I attempted to fix it by replacing my transmission but this did not help!
