I was driving within a city and came to a red light. Since my car is a hybrid (2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, also I just purchased this lease in April 2025) the car will switch to the EV battery when I come to a halt and when I propel forward the car will either remain on the EV battery (if the battery has mile range) or it will switch to the engine. As the light turned green and i pushed the pedal to move forward, my car began to move forward using the EV battery but when the car attempted to switch to the engine, it tripped and my car would not move forward at all (this all occurred in the middle of traffic). I attempted to restart my car and my car would turn on but my engine would not start / my dash kept instructing to push the brake and hit the start button / also my dash displayed both engine and battery light / i was unable to shift my gears in any position. …

My 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEV is subject to Safety Recall 78C/NHTSA 25V-766 for ENGINE FIRES caused by sand contamination in the 2.0L engine that can cause "catastrophic engine failure" and "vehicle fire. On January 9, 2026, I took my vehicle to Stewart Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Colma, CA. While other recalls were serviced, I was informed that Recall 78C could not be completed because remedy parts are unavailable. Following the dealership's advice, I contacted Jeep Customer Care ([phone]). I was told the vehicle is safe to drive despite no expected resolution date for the repair. Furthermore, my request for a rental vehicle was denied unless I paid out of pocket. My car leasing company, Stellantis' own notice states this defect creates an "increased risk of occupant injury" due to fires. …

On multiple occasions, the transmission does not respond to gear changes such as moving from drive to reverse or park into drive. On those occasions, the D for drive would be blinking. More concerning and very dangerous is a lack of propulsion mid drive, the transmission would not go into gear. The engine would rev high, and it would not move forward, except by whatever momentum it originally had. This has happened to me on at least four occasions two of which I was in the left lane of three and four lane wide streets with cars passing me at high speed on the right. I needed to pull over turn the car off and then on again, which is the only way that the transmission would start working again. Sometimes the transmission would be jerky, especially after those incidents. …

My 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe suffered a catastrophic internal engine failure and set DTC P2338 ("Cylinder 3 Above Knock/Combustion Vibration Sensor Threshold"). Although my VIN is not included in Safety Recall 78C (NHTSA 25V-766), my vehicle experienced the same failure mode, symptoms, and diagnostic code associated with the recall. Stellantis' STAR Center reviewed the case, confirmed internal engine damage, and recommended complete engine replacement. While driving at highway speed, the vehicle suddenly lost power and entered limp mode. I was able to safely exit the highway, but this defect created a serious safety risk and could have resulted in a crash. Stellantis has already expanded the recall population after identifying additional affected vehicles. …

Vehicle was unable to be shutdown and was locked in park. Can was not responding to turning off while in the garage and engine running. Since the vehicle was inside an attached garage, we were concerned about Carbon Monoxide getting into the house. No way to turn car off and had to involve police/fire department. Disconnected the battery terminal in the trunk which was unable to be opened, so we had to crawl through the side passenger door to get into the trunk. The vehicle is now at the dealer (Wilde Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, at [redacted] in [redacted]). No police report #, but CAD entry from officer in having to assist.

While driving approximately 70 mph on the highway, my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe experienced a sudden and complete loss of power without warning. This created a dangerous situation with risk of collision. The vehicle is also subject to an active recall related to high-voltage battery fire risk, which prevents safe charging and normal hybrid operation. Additionally, at approximately 12,000 miles, the vehicle developed a transmission pump failure requiring repair. Due to these combined issues, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, particularly when transporting my children. This incident represents a serious safety concern involving loss of propulsion at highway speeds.

The current recall is unable to happen as it has to be over 50 degrees. This is the second major recall in under one year. I have had issues with the radio, apple car play, the engine dying while in park and idling. Additionally, the vehicle suddenly lost power while driving it at 65 mph on a major highway when trying to pass. The only answers I get is the lemon law. This vehicle is not safe, the dealer has only offered for me to trade out of it into something extremely higher of payment. I am requesting a dealer buyback due to major safety concerns. This vehicle should not even be on the market. The acceleration issues continue and I am DONE!

Car cut off while driving, again. Full dashboard started to flash, warnings, stated that there was no battery, no gas. I was stopped in traffic and managed to pull over and had restart the car. This is the second time that it has cut off while driving . The first time my toddler son was in the car in morning traffic and it cut off. This is an extreme safety hazard for myself, my family and others driving. The entire system failed. It was supposedly fixed before but the problem is still there.
