The dealership changed the oil on my 2020 Honda Fit, and the Oil Life display was reset to 100%, on 1/8/24. Two days later the LCD panel, which shows the fuel gauge, odometer, remaining range, oil life, etc. began to intermittently go blank or become garbled and unreadable. This has continued to happen without warning. Especially with respect to the fuel gauge, I believe this is a safety issue, since my only indication of low fuel may occur only when (and if!) the low fuel warning goes on. I had scheduled an appointment to have the dealership look at the panel, but cancelled it when I learned that 1. this has apparently been a common problem in the Honda Fit since at least the 2015 models and 2. the dealership would charge me a $160 diagnostic fee. My car is six months out of warranty, but has only 7,230 miles on it. …
Fuel gauge on my 2020 Honda Fit LX sometimes goes blank or weird graphics under colder temperatures at start up. Doesn't seem to do it all time though ,especially in warmer weather that I've seen. Seems like when the car warms up, it returns to normal. Have around 42000 miles on it now. I haven't taken it in to my Honda dealer yet for inspection. I believe it maybe a circuit board behind the dashboard after watching a You tube video of someone pulling his out and soldering a spot behind the gauge. He seemed to fix it. Puts the driver at risk if he doesn't know if he has gas in the car! No warnings have ever came on either. Other owners have complained on this to. My car has never been in a wreck either. Hardly drive it. Past my warranty to.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning. The first time, the contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed, the vehicle independently lurched forward without warning before the vehicle corrected itself and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated and no fault was found with the vehicle. A year later while the contact's husband had come to a complete stop at a stop sign; the vehicle's engine began to rev while making a right turn. The vehicle then independently accelerated as the contact's husband attempted to avoid hitting a barrier in the middle of a traffic circle. …
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the "Lane Departure" warning light illuminated, and the vehicle independently steered to the left. The contact used force to jerk the steering wheel to the right. The contact stated that the Lane Departure warning light turned off once the vehicle was in a lane. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle stalled intermittently. The contact stated that she had been left several times stranded on the road and required Roadside Assistance. The contact stated that Roadside Assistance was able to jumpstart the vehicle. The contact stated that she had the battery replaced three times. The contact stated that the failure was ongoing. Additionally, the Forward Collision Avoidance system activated erroneously. …
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Fit. The contact stated that on various occasions while his wife was driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power with the ABS, traction control, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that occasionally the vehicle failed to restart and was towed to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated, and the fault codes were cleared. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injector and spark plugs needed to be replaced; however, only the fuel injector was replaced. The contact stated that the failure recurred, and the vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that his wife was able to pull over and restart the vehicle. …
My company vehicle has fluid leaking on the floor, the check engine light constantly coming on, the rear camera is intermittently inoperable and it smells like something has died in it (mold/mildew). Since I have owned the vehicle, I have reported these issues to Honda dealerships and they have claimed to fix the problems. I paid for an extended warranty and each time the dealership forced me to pay for repeat issues that repeatedly continued to happen. The battery died a more than once right after I purchased it. The car had to be towed a few times because of the electrical battery issue. The fluid that was leaking on the floor caused my leg, lungs and mental health to suffer. I am currently under doctors care for the mechanical issues the car has caused. This is my company vehicle and it has been at Honda of Covington since April 2023. …
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Fit. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the instrument cluster started to flicker. The contact stated that the speedometer, fuel gauge, and other gauges were fluctuating. The contact stated that the failure became a regular failure and occurred at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the clutch gauge needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Electronic instrument panel goes blank or displays random pixels during cool and cold weather. Pushing the panel display selection button may bring the display back, back temporarily, or change the random pixels. Yes the vehicle can be inspected. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Display information goes blank! Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. This would be a VERY expensive electrical fault to repair and I am not paying it. Traditional display equipment never had this type of faults so it should not have been made electronic. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. See previous. None of those agents would do anything about it. …
