What owners report
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the condition of my vehicle, which I purchased new (0 miles) in June 2018 . I have encountered significant issues with the paint peeling and mold growth in various areas such as trunk, hood, fenders. It is distressing to note that despite regular maintenance and care, the paint has begun to peel off in several places, exposing the underlying surface and compromising the appearance of the vehicle. additionally , the presence of mold poses a health and safety risk, as mold spores can cause respiratory health issues . I believe these issues are indicative defective materials used in the manufacturing process. thank you for your attention
White paint is peeling badly and causing body of vehicle to corrode and rust. It is primary occurring on the roof of the vehicle, where the white paint is peeling off in sheets. I have reported this to Honda corporate through their customer service phone number. I have also made Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg aware of the problem. There was a previous recall for identical peeling white paint issues that was extended to cover 2018 white Honda Fit vehicles, but the 2019 white paint clearly has the same issue. The paint is defective and leads to significant premature body damage.
Two separate issues: The variable valve timing control (VTC) actuator is defective. There is a Honda service bulletin on this issue that has impacted many years of Honda Fits and has proven to be a defective unit. Service Bulletin 16-088. This repair should be covered as this defective part can cause severe damage to the engine costing the consumer thousands of dollars to repair. A simple search of Honda Fit VTC issues will show an outsized number of people having this issue. This is Honda's own service bulletin - The exterior paint on the vehicle may peel off. American Honda is extending the warranty on the paint of the affected vehicles to 7 years from the original date of purchase with no mileage limit. This warranty extension does not apply to other paint issues like rock chips, scratches, bird droppings, sap, wraps, dents, collision damage, customer-induced damage, etc. …

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Fit. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact discovered that the paint all over the vehicle was delaminating and rusting. The failure occurred on several different occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed to be repainted. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.
my wife's wedding finger was nearly amputated near the fingertip from our 2017 honda fit , it happened when she was getting out of the car and I was closing the electric windows on May 22 2025, luckily we had lots of napkins in the glove box to catch all of the blood,we went to emergency room and finger was x-ray'd and found out it was broken, they had to cut off wedding ring, er doctor stitched back together, prescribed antibiotics, and told her she needed to see a orthopedic surgeon in a week to do repairs I called and reported this to honda corp. And they said they would call and setup time to inspect vehicle, still have not received call yet There were no warnings or messages
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Honda Fit. While inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that all the seat tracks and bolts were corroded. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,400.
The floor of the driver seat and the floor of the front passenger seat continuously flood after it rains. I have dried the floors with a vacuum and checked for any potential leaks or blockages. However, I cannot find any blockages or leaks that are causing the floors of the car to flood, and it continues to flood after it rains. Besides the floors, nothing else is wet--the seats themselves are dry, and the steering wheel and dashboard all look dry. I am worried this water can lead to the floors rotting or retaining water and having mold--which will be a health concern.
