The contact owns a 2018 Honda Fit. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that since receiving the recall notification, on four occasions the vehicle independently accelerated while idling, without warning. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer for an inspection; however, the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 12,800. Parts distribution disconnect.
all vehicle warning lights came on specifically the check engine light for an emissions system problem. At the time the car had around 100,000 miles so it was suspected that the issue had to be with the battery, o2 sensors, or spark plug and ignition coil, so those parts were replaced. The vehicle still shows all the warning lights and reads codes for misfires in the first and second cylinder. If the issue with the fuel injectors was recalled and fixed for the 2015-2016 model Honda Fit, then it cant possibly be that the 2017-2020 honda fits also have a fuel injector problem, unless they also do and the issue has been neglected.
We own a 2016 Honda Fit with 52,000 miles, and the fuel gauge/speed/odometer display does not work. It completely fails in the cold. This is major safety issue since we can't read the fuel level nor see how fast or slow I'm driving. Our car is currently at the Conicelli Honda dealership. After trying to get this fix or diagnosed for years, Conicelli thinks the problem is a loose or failing solder joint. I spoke with Honda and they is no current recall on this problem. That said and apparently, it is a common issue based on a YouTube video, [redacted] . This is major safety issue that should not fail at 52,000 miles. Honda should be made aware of this issue and fix the problem.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Honda Fit. While in reverse, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The driver lost control and the vehicle crashed into a brick wall. The driver sustained an injured neck and back, which did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. Kelly Honda (540 lynnway, lynn, ma) was contacted, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 11,000. The VIN was invalid.
Unintended and sudden acceleration. November 2015 the car was making a right hand turn into a parking space, while pressing the brake the car suddenly accelerated the brakes did not work, the car traveled about 70 feet before stopping. Took it to tom wood Honda all they checked was the brakes and said it was fine. Update: February 2016 making a right hand turn into a parking space at a panera bread gently tapped the brakes the car accelerated and went thru the door at panera bread. Tom wood Honda checked the brakes says its fine and released it to the collision center. I am making lease payments on this car but when it's repaired it is staying at the lot. It accelerates on it's own and is going to kill someone. I cannot allow anyone in my family to drive it. I also cannot afford insurance wise to drive a car I know accelerates when it decides to.
When my wide was moving into a parking slot in front of a grocery store, at the moment of complete stop, the car suddenly accelerated and jumped forward hitting first the concrete block in the parking slot, then the edge of the sidewalk, kept moving fast forward onto the sidewalk and finally coming to an stop when it hit the wall of the grocery store. This is known as "sudden acceleration" or "unintended acceleration". About 175,000 2015 Honda Fit have been recalled for this very issue in Japan. Also, the air bag didn't deploy either causing the bodily injury to the driver (headache, neck and back pain, she has seen doctors and physical therapist).
While my wife was coming to a stop in a parking space, the car suddenly accelerated and jumped over the curb into a pedestrian walkway. The car could not be stopped with the brake and continued moving over the walkway. Afraid that the car would hit a pedestrian or crash into cars on the busy street ahead, she was ready to stop the car by crashing it into a concrete column. Fortunately, she removed the key and the car stopped. A similar incident occurred in 2014 when the car suddenly accelerated while I was coming to a stop at a traffic light. In order to avoid hitting the car in front of me, I stopped by removing the key. Then I drove the car to the dealer. A master mechanic checked the car but could not duplicate the problem. In 2020, the car again accelerated suddenly while stopping at a traffic light. I stopped the car immediately but did not report the incident. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Honda Fit. The contact stated that the vehicle had a sudden acceleration, while driving. The brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle. As a result, the contact crashed into another which brought the vehicle to a stop. The air bag on the driver's side did not deploy. The contact sustained chest injuries due to coming in contact with the steering wheel. Medical attention was not required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was fixed, traded in, and sold. The dealer marin Honda (2 shoreline pkwy, san rafael, ca 9490[phone]) referred the contact to the manufacturer. It was unknown if the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,000.
