The contact stated that while driving on the highway, a loud noise was heard. The vehicle's sunroof had shattered with glass getting on the contact as well as in the vehicle. The dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.
Windshield wiper motor has failed at approximately 26k miles. I own a 1997 chevy k1500 with 217k miles and the windshield wiper motor has never been replaced and still works. For my Honda to have this low of mileage and have this failure rate, I'm unsure of how to repair. Cannot find an aftermarket part at any of the local parts stores and am unsure of using factory remanufactured because of the failure rate being so soon, I don't trust the remanufactured and they never have good warranties and generally high in price from Honda.
My sunroof exploded while I was driving on the interstate at about 70 MPH! It was definitely not hit by anything. You can see in one of the photos how it blew outward. Fortunately, most of the glass went outside of the vehicle and I was not injured, but it was extremely loud and terrifying! I was still about two hours away from home so I closed the shade guard so that the glass would not fall inside on me. I could hear pieces falling and hitting the shade guard the rest of the way home. This was not covered by my warranty even though in my opinion it shouldn't have happened and was a defect and should have been covered.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 45 MPH, the sun roof exploded. The contact had to pull over to the side of the road. The sun shade was closed and the majority of the glass fragments were was retained by the sun shade. The dealer speculated that a rock must have struck the sun roof, which was not covered by warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 70 MPH, there was a loud suction noise coming from the front passenger side window. The window fractured without warning. The contact drove the vehicle and informed the police who stated that no outside damage caused the fracture. A police report was filed. The contact informed the manufacturer who repaired the vehicle. The failure mileage was 17,000.
Windshield washer freezes extremely easily, causing a horribly unsafe condition in winter driving. As an example, I have -30 degree washer fluid in the car, it is 25 degrees out this morning, car sat in the garage all night. After a 15 minute drive, washer fluid is completely frozen and will not come out at all. Tried several times. Almost caused an accident for me because I could not see with the salt on the road.
Honda lanewatch which is a camera-based assist that projects a live feed of the vehicle's right-side blind spot on the car's infotainment screen, stopped working. Car distance markings still appear but the camera feed has gone black/there is no live feed. Similar issue is with reverse camera. There is no live image upon entering in reverse gear, the camera feed has gone black.
Windshield has coating, or appears to have internal laminate defect in manufacture. When damp or wet, visibility is made worse by use of wipers causing extremely reduced visibility & excessive glare from opposing traffic. Night driving in rain is extremely hazardous.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 50 MPH, the sun roof independently shattered. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.
Lane watch camera stopped working within 3 years after purchase. It comes on for few days and then blank again. Same is the case with rear view camera. Faulty cameras or some faulty computer systems installed in Honda accords.
