Loss of Direction Control
On May 6, 2021, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Engineering Analysis (EA21-001) to assess a sudden loss of steering control, in Model Year (MY) 2013-2015 Honda Accord vehicles. Electrical overstress
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this investigation to determine if the failure of airbags to deploy during severe crashes, in certain vehicles, was the result of a safety related defect. What 2014 Honda Accord owners say
Electrical system all 378 →
After a minor accident, once turned off, the car would not restart for about 20 minutes. All dash lights flicker and there is a clicking sound. Insurance company will not cover assessment or any repair as they say it cannot be linked to the loss, even though I never had issues with this prior to the accident and it was reported in my accident claim. No issues show on a diagnostic test, but I continue to experience issues with the start button connection. I can hold the brake and press the start button but either have to hold it for 20 - 30 seconds while it clicks or goes dim (while you can hear things trying to happen in the engine), or the brake/start button must be applied multiple times to get it to start. I also think that power is beginning to flicker during driving and now I'm really afraid. I have 105,000 miles.
