We live in houston, texas area. One recent weekend, my wife and I were in my 2005 Honda Accord driving on an unoccupied road (light weekend traffic and no one within 1000 yards). My wife and I heard a huge explosion. We were in motion at the time and had no idea what happened to the car, but we knew it was powerful. Immediately following the explosion, we heard a rush of air and when opening the sunroof cover (moved backwards), we were rained with broken glass particles (anywhere from 1mm to 1inch). The sunroof had exploded and the pieces were very dangerous. Thank goodness for the cover that caught most of debris. Had we had that open, it'd have been a catastrophic result. We do not feel anything contacted the roof and can only surmise that either a major pressure change occurred, a significant temp change occurred, or a structural change caused the sunroof to explode. …

Passenger side power window stopped working. Mechanic I spoke to said the window regulator is broken and needs to be replaced. Up until the day it broke, the window would get stuck and not roll back-up. This happened many times until it broke. The issue, in my opinion, didn't appear to be because of any weather. The car was never in an accident, nor was the passenger window ever tampered with or vandalized.

Wife was driving the car when the roof linear fabric came out blocking her visibility from the rear. She could not see driving in the fast lane and with the baby in the back she panicked and pulled over. Half of the roof linear came down blocking visibility to the rear and to the sides.

Takata recall -I am the owner of a beautiful 2005 Honda Accord ex. I am the original and only owner of my car. My car has this issue where it is burning excessive oil and engine siezes. (I mean really bad). I would get an oil change today and car would be out of oil within 2weeks...I've spent over 3000K dollars on trying to figure what the problem was and no mechanic could figure it out. I finally went to a special mechanic who finally did some research and figured out that this was a known issue by Honda and have not yet done a recall for the issue. Apparently based on articles from the Honda/braman and Takata sites (www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord that after 80K miles the engine burns excessive oil in the engine. My car takes "full synthetic" so its gotten to be really expensive to own this car. To mention, the car has no leaks, all parts are in working order. …

Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle had a longer braking distance. This occurred on two separate occasions. The vehicle was driven to the dealer, where the problem could not be duplicated. Updated 2/12/2007 - the rear brakes had to be replaced although they had less than 5000 miles in them. The consumer feels that the rear brake are doing most of the braking which is causing the vehicle to slide rather than stop. The dealer told the consumer that they think his driving habits are the cause of the brakes wear so quickly. When rolling down the right or left front windows the consumer heard a grinding noise. The technician lubricated the window glass runs.

I purchased my 2005 Honda Accord lx with the knowledge of the back right window not working. Within 6 months of owning this car, the passenger front window and both of the back windows just stopped working at all. I have tried using the front main switch as well as the individual switches to unroll them and all that happens is a click every time I try to unroll each one. My passenger window is stuck half way down with no way to roll it up. The only window that works is the drivers side front window now. I have confirmed that the child safety lock is unlocked each time I try to unroll each of them. Is there a recall on this kind of default?

Honda 2005 Accord ex: my power windows will not always function. Window will not go down when switch is pressed. If it is down, it will not come up. Neither direction works correctly. This has been happening for almost 5 months. This week the window went down while I was driving but had not pressed the switch. Our Honda fit 2007 just received a recall notice for this exact issue. Is there also a problem with Honda Accord 2005?
