What owners report
The contact owns a 2026 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while walking alongside the rear end of the parked vehicle, the hands free function of the lift gate opened up unintentionally, no warning lights were illuminated. The contact was not injured, however expressed concern for safety as the lift gate will open without user consent while walking along the rear end of the vehicle. The local dealer was contacted however the vehicle was not diagnosed as the contact was advised that the vehicle was manufactured with the feature. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60.
The center screen (infotainment), which shows controls for cabin climate (A/C, heat) and many more functions of the vehicle fails to turn on at random times. It is available for inspection. The external air temperature is in the upper 90s; temperature inside the car's cabin is easily 115 or higher. This makes safe operation of the car not possible. Additionally passengers cannot occupy the vehicle safely at these extreme temperatures. The problem has been reproduced by dealers. UNKNOWN whether the components have been inspected by the manufacturer. No warning lamps or lights.
I'm reaching out because I've encountered a really concerning issue with my 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate. There's a really loud popping noise randomly coming from the speakers that's honestly quite startling and dangerous while driving. Most recently, it scared me so much that I swerved off the road and nearly crashed. If you review online forums, you will find that this has been experienced by other owners as well. I've tried to resolve this through your usual service channels, but my concerns have been dismissed without any recommended action to ensure my family's safety. After scheduling with my local GMC dealership they couldn't replicate the noise and sent me on my way. I also brought it up with GMC Customer Care, and they suggested I try to record the sound, or keep bringing it in for service if it happens again. …
The progressive failure of the factory steering wheel adhesive on my 2025 GMC Yukon creates an immediate, active safety hazard during vehicle operation. The material failure and sticky glue are localized directly around the integrated heating element of the steering wheel. This failure severely impacts driving maneuvers as well as a potential electrical fire hazard. The liquefied glue residue is incredibly sticky and continually transfers to the driver's hands, resulting in a compromised, slippery grip on the steering wheel. During active driving maneuvers, such as hand-over-hand turning, navigating sharp curves, the loose edges of the peeling leather and separating trim physically catch on the driver's palms. This restricts smooth wheel rotation, disrupts natural hand movement, and threatens a sudden, temporary loss of steering control. …
Since purchasing the vehicle in September with 8 miles there have been several electrical malfunctions. Some "fix" themselves when I restart the vehicle and several have needed to go into service. The first issue was when my mirrors wouldn't come back up when switching to drive. I disabled the reverse tilt option and had it serviced to be fixed. Apparently it needed an update. More recently I had several malfunctions. My vehicle would lower its self while still in gear, and it wasn't the normal self leveling. I didn't not have any warning lights or messages pop up. The next time I started my vehicle and had "service rear axle" warning. I called the local dealership and after restarting the vehicle several times and more error messages, I decided to attempt to drive the vehicle in, all the while recovering several message warnings. …
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that there was a strong mildew odor coming from the vehicle while entering the vehicle, and there was moisture around the trunk near the wiring harness. The vehicle was taken to Modern Auto Company (6224 MO-100, Washington, MO 63090), but the cause of the failure was not found. O'Fallon Buick GMC (2150 Technology Dr, O'Fallon, MO 63368) diagnosed the vehicle with a failure of the wiring harness and stated that there was moisture entering the vehicle through the wiring harness. However, after the contact inquired about the odor inside the vehicle, the dealer refused to continue working with the contact. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a claim was filed, and an appointment was scheduled for service at Dave Sinclair Buick GMC (5655 S Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63123). …
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. While the contact's wife was driving approximately 5-10 MPH on a city street and approaching a stop sign, the vehicle experienced a failure and became inoperable. The contact stated that while the driver was attempting to restart the vehicle, the battery warning light and engine warning light illuminated, and the "Low Battery - Start Engine" message was displayed. The vehicle was towed directly to a dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure but provided an estimate for the valve springs inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was working with the dealer to determine how to repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 71,481.
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle failed to immediately start. During the failure, the contact received a message that the battery power was low. The contact stated that the vehicle was jumpstarted. The battery was replaced, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions, but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 11,000.
