What owners report
I bought a new 2025 Ford Expedition Max King Ranch back in February. After driving it for awhile.....it was noticed that the front windshield is defective (star shape or spackling) and have been reported to the dealership that I bought from and another dealership way closer to me (West Hills Ford). This is making it hard to drive and it a safety issue also. You only see it at sunrise and sunset. West Hills said they see it no one, even myself can get a picture of it. With that FORD is denying the replacement, even tho it is still under warranty. They're basically telling to go pack sand because they need a picture, instead of taking the word of myself and even the service department at West Hills. I paid almost $100, 000 for this vehicle and I'm being treated like [redacted].....sorry for the language. r/ [redacted]
When using the turn signal, the blind-spot camera view is blocked by an on-screen steering wheel control popup, which cannot be minimized and only disappears after an extended amount of time. This popup automatically appears after a door has been opened as well as if/when the control button on the steering wheel is engaged intentionally and/or unintentionally. This obstructs my view of the blind-spot camera at a critical time when I am attempting a lane change, creating a potential safety risk. I have checked vehicle settings and consulted the dealer, but there is no current remedy or setting to disable the popup; this was communicated from the dealer to be "standard" and "not defective". I am unaware of any acknowledgement from Ford that this issue is a known defect in this model's infotainment interface.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the roof of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined that the panoramic sunroof brackets had fractured and needed to be replaced. The brackets were replaced; however, the failure later reoccurred. The contact was informed by the local dealer that the sunroof glass was too heavy for the brackets used to secure the sunroof. The contact was concerned that once the vehicle was repaired, the failure would likely recur. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 10,000.
Passenger sideview mirror does not open upon unlocking and starting the vehicle. I need to stop (if started driving) turn to park, turn off car, open driver's door to signal car that I have left, lock car using remote, wait few seconds and then unlock to reset car then it usually opens. Issues with mirror began happening a month after purchasing brand new car (5/24), first mirror was "popping or clicking" upon turning outright, mirror had been replaced once, over last year issue has been on going and brought to dealershop " deemed a technological glitch" - no warning lights or messages appear - sometimes my control panel screen will turn black upon starting the car which I now know means to look at my passenger mirror. This last occurred on Friday 7/25/25.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the front driver's and passenger's side electric mirrors could not be adjusted from the front driver's door main switch. Additionally, the windows failed to roll up and to roll down while using the front driver's door main switch. The contact stated that while in a parking garage, the front driver's side window failed to roll down, and the driver was unable to immediately insert the parking garage ticket to exit the garage. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the front driver's door main switch module, but the failure later reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 21,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH and taking an exit, the panoramic sunroof exploded without impact. The sunroof exploded from the inside going outward. The contact stated that the first panoramic slide had exploded, and the second sunroof was still intact. There was glass on the interior of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 55,384.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving in the rain at 60 MPH with the windshield wipers at max speed, the driver's side windshield wiper started hanging off the side of the windshield and failed to operate as needed. The contact pulled into the nearest gas station and attempted to move the wiper back to the original position; however, the driver's side windshield wiper failed to move. Despite the failure, the contact continued to drive the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V250000 (Visibility), which was linked to the failure. Two dealers were notified about the failure, and both informed the contact that there were no recalls on the VIN. The dealers provided estimates for the repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. …
On 2/20/23 my spouse was driving northbound around 9:30 am. When she heard what she describes as a gun shot. She immediately called me and I told her to pull over to the closest and safest spot. She explained that it sounded like the glass sunroof exploded. She climbed up to find that was the case. There was a huge gaping hole right in the center of the sunroof. We immediately took the 2022 Expedition to a Ford dealership close by. The dealership stated that Ford has not issued a bulletin or recall and because of that could not cover the repair under warranty. They stated that the damage indicates that an object hit the glass. I feel that this could not be correct since the glass is facing outward and the manner of which the glass shattered. Further I searched the internet and found that there have been several others dealing with the same issue. …
