After driving 5 or 10 minutes vehicle lost power and stalled. Consumer contacted the manufacturer, and had taken it to dealer on several occasions. But problem recurred. Vehicle was under warranty. However, the warranty did not cover the problems of the vehicle, and consumer had to pay out of pocket. The consumer had little control of the vehicle's steering while driving. Antifreeze leaked from the vehicle. The engine flooded and stall. The vehicle ran rough prior to reaching 75 MPH. Occasionally the serpentine belt ran crooked on the pulley and broke. The exhaust system leaked. The fuel tank was not properly fitted to the holders. The transmission leaked fluid.
Fuel quantity indicated lower than actual fuel in tank of '95 Dodge Ram 2500 p/u. Removed carter fuel module; found float deteriorated with absorbed fuel which made float heavy and caused faulty indication. Installed walbro fuel module, checks OK. How do I inform Dodge to process bulletin or recall the faulty carter fuel modules? This is a safety concern, operators need to know accurate fuel load to make a safe trip.
The engine started with the transmission in gear and no one in the vehicle, starter would not disengage and the heating element on the intake exploded and caught fire. This is unbelievable with all the safety equipment today.
Fuel sensor fluttered between half to empty, then went empty, and it happened a second time, again same hing, we have not replaced it yet, because you have to drop the tank.the equipment is faulty as least, don't know how it survived in diesel, no reading on fuel in tank, dangeous if you don't keep milege/fillup, could cause serious accident on interstate if you ran out and didn''t know what was happening at first.
The metal hangers in fuel pump was rusted. The rust from the metal hangers went through fuel line and clogged fuel tank. Dealer contacted. Nlmconsumer had dealer clean fuel system from front to back. Problem reoccured. Consumer found out it was a problem with the fuel pump not just the hangers. Serviceman at the dealer refuses to look at the fuel pump for further diagnosis.
Rubber fuel hose is spraying fuel onto engine, causing fire hazard. Leak is coming from where rubber fuel line meets metal fuel line. Consumer states he first noticed problem due to vehicle would not start after immediately after being parked overnight, this problem became worse over the next few weeks, consumer feels the location of the fuel linie is hazardous.
The fuel guage has been replaced in my truck twice and still doesn't work(it reads empty all of the time) the fuel warning light is always on also. My father has a 1997 Dodge pickup with the same problem, also a good friend of ours has a 1995 Dodge pickup with the exact same problem. To say the least we're all fed up with it.
Return fuel hose failure. This problem could results in injection pump losing prime which will cuase failure to start or stalling. Also this problem is a fire hazard. The cracked rubber hose causes a fuel leak which could be very hazardous. This problem is very common on the 1994-1998 Dodge diesel trucks.
Fuel sensor will fluctuate and then go to empty and remain there. Also, ignition switch began overheating, burning the insulation around the A/C wiring attached to the steering column. In addition, throttle position sensor , with heat on, would jump to 3000-4000 rpms.
For last 18 months fuel gauge has not worked. Van was taken todealership. Dealer stated fuel sending unit would need to be replaced, which would cost consumer $500.00. Problem has not been corrected. Please provide any further information.
