I was driving on Interstate 15 North when suddenly my power steering stopped working. I was unable to adequately turn the steering wheel to switch lanes while I was moving 65mph. The light "Service Power Steering" started blinking and I was virtually unable to turn my steering wheel left or right. I was stuck in a life-threatening situation. I immediately had to put my hazard lights on, brake, and fight for my life to try to turn the steering wheel so I could pull over. I almost impacted the barrier and several drivers during this. My mechanic states that my power steering pump failed, without any known cause.

The power steering pump was replaced because of on and off stiffness while driving. This was very frightening because the steering wheel will not release while turning. The dealership replaced the pump about 3 times and still cannot correct the problem.

11-23-16, driving on interstate at 65 MPH in a 70mph ,suddenly steering wheel began to pull by itself left to right repeatedly for about 3-4 seconds ,I nearly lost control, braked gently and steering returned to normal,,battery saver mode came on a short before this happened, 2 hours later on a 40 MPH city street I was making a normal low speed left turn on a green light, car seemed to not go where I steered it and we hit a traffic control pole, deploying all airbags, there was a light drizzle in both instances, but this was not a hydroplane, battery saver mode was on for over 4 hours during our entire trip until our accident.

I was stopped at an intersection with a 4 way stop. A car pulled up to my left so I pulled into the intersection. I began pulling into the intersection to make a left turn and another car came speeding up, pulled around the car to my left and hit my car on the left (driver's) side. I was thrown forward and hit my head on the sunvisor, causing a subdural hematoma in my head. This resulted in my spending 8 days in he icu unit of memorial hospital, springfield, illinois
