My back driver side sliding door stopped working and I had to remove my grandchild from the window because the car was loaded and packed for a trip. Then about 5 months after the door stopped my passenger and driverside windows would roll down and immediately back up and then down and not close. This caused extreme cold for passengers in the vehicle since we were driving in bad weather and could not stop to try to get them rolled up. Having only 1 back door that works makes it completely impossible to load and unload my family and it bothers me if there were an emergency and had to exit vehicle I wouldn't be able to get all my grandkids out in a timely manner. When I pull up to a construction zone and have to stop I have to open my door to hear to talk to them which caused them to tell me to stay in vehicle and they get scared for my safety with my door open. …

While driving at highway speed, 65mph, the 2013 Town and Country shut down. The dash instruments and all internal lighting shut off, the radio shut off and the blower fan for heat shut off. I lost the ability to steer and brake (power steering went out) but managed to maneuver the vehicle to the right lane. The car would not respond to any acceleration attempt. I tried turning the key while coasting down the highway, the vehicle did not restart. I then put the vehicle into neutral and tried turning the key and it did not restart. I then turned the key to the off position and then tried to restart and it successfully started. My dash instruments illuminated, the radio and heat blower came back on and I was able to regain control of the vehicle.

The van will randomly shut off while driving. it may happen out of the blue while on the highway, hitting a bump, or even driving at slow speeds. The instrument panel remains on, I can put the van in neutral while still moving and restart the van. Sometimes it happens multiple times a week, sometimes it happens only a few months. There are no check engine light on or anything else.

Driving home last night in our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country a transmission issue came up out of nowhere, with no warning. The van lost all speed and was unable to keep up with traffic. It was a dangerous situation that thankfully avoiding any accidents. The van only has 58,000 miles. A certified technician has looked at it and said it will need a new transmission due to internal failure of the pump as there's no pump pressure. He mentioned that he's personally seen several of these problems with premature transmission failure due to design flaw; including ones low mileage ones like ours. I've spoken with several other mechanics and all have said it's an issue seen too frequently. …

While driving, we heard a loud noise like rattling coming from the engine area. I thought it was a bad A/C clutch so I turned off the A/C but the sound continued only not as loud. When I turned the A/C unit on...the sound became louder so I turned off the A/C to arrive at destination. I later took my vehicle to the dealership who said the flexplate had to be replaced. A week later I received a second call that the TIPM had to be replaced as well. Upon research, I have found numerous complaints online from other owners of this vehicle type spanning the years 2012-2014 with a high number of problems with the same two parts. I do believe these parts are dangerous and faulty or an investigation leading to the cause should be done. …

While driving at about 30mph on a city street the transmission suddenly downshifted to a low gear causing the engine RPM to go up to 4000. This caused the MPH to be limited to about 20. There were no 'engine trouble' or other warning lights. The gear shift still indicated 'drive', not a lower gear. Upon stopping, the gear shift was moved to all positions to no affect; when driven the car remained locked in a low gear. The lower gears, below drive (1, 2,3) were not indicated when the lever was moved to the position where they should have been indicated. The car was shut off and restarted. The problem seems to have corrected itself and has not yet reoccurred after several miles of driving, but only hours after it occurred. This sudden downshift, without warning, could be serious at high speed and crowded roads. …
