My A/C Compressor Unit froze up. Tearing my Serpentine Belt. Causing my engine to not run at all. My Driver side window Switch wiring melted. So now my window does not function at all. My vehicle doesn't go over 40mph and no longer shifts properly. Most of my engine wiring has melted. I have replaced the MAP Sensor, but it says there is a problem with the circuit. Also says a problem with the Barometric sensor, which I have yet to find. I had to replace the water pump. My cooling fan has totally stopped working. My key sticks in the ignition. I have replaced the battery and starter. I have also replaced the ignition coil pack, Spark plugs and wires. I thought this may be the reason it was having issues starting, but it still continues. My vehicle will studder or stall out while driving. Causing it to lose power, steering. Sometimes the van just doesn't start. …
Vehicle stalled (highly dangerous, loss of power steering at high speeds): 2nd time in less than 1 week vehicle has stalled while driving in motion on highway between speeds of 25mph (1st time) and 45 MPH (2nd time). No turns involved. Weather conditions were favorable with no rain or inclement weather, both were at night 7-8 pm timeframe @ approx 50 degrees f outside air temp both times. Vehicle is a 2010 Chrysler tc with 4.0 liter engine. 119,875 miles when it happened a second time. 1st time ESP light came on, cannot confirm this occurred the 2nd time. No prior indications, no prior reported problems that I am aware of . Second owner, purchased car under warranty @ approx. 44,000 miles. Very hard to understand how this has not been diagnosed given the amount of complaints. I am an experienced mechanic in the aviation field, had this been an aircraft, the fleet would be grounded.
While heading to my son's hockey tournament in michigan's up with a van loaded with the entire family, I was traveling approximately 65 MPH when the vehicle began to accelerate for no apparent reason. I attempted to turn off the cruise by pushing the coast button, I hit the breaks hoping that would stop the acceleration (it didn't) after accelerating to 80+ MPH, I broke the cruise control lever off the steering column and pulled onto the shoulder. Eventually, the van slowed and the engine RPM's dropped. It was a hellava white knuckle ride and we were all glad it was over. Haven't tried the cruise control since.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country. While driving approximately 30 MPH, the accelerator pedal extended to the floorboard without warning and the rpms increased. The contact depressed the brake pedal with both feet and the accelerator pedal returned to its normal position. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was carbon built up in the throttle body that needed to be cleaned out. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000. Updated 09/21/15
Out of nowhere vehicle stops running, no check engine lights, but van shuts off. This has happened a dozen or so times in the last few weeks. Took the van to local shop for diagnostic test. No codes appeared, tested fuel pump and EGR value, not problems there. Mechanic unable to detect issue. I've noticed other complaints online and a recall for 2010 Chrysler t&c vans, but not my vehicle (built on 9/26/2012).
All warning lights on dash board light up while driving. Wipers come on(won't shut off), if cruise control is on gears won't change. Happens on city street and highway. Purchased in 2014 has been checked 3 times. Temporary fix 2 times. Third time I was told the best guess would cost $1,000.00. Emphasized that this is a guess. When I stop the vehicle and take the key out and put it back in and restart the car it helps.
Driving on freeway the check engine light came on and van shifted into 3rd gear without warning. Diagnosed with stuck valve and gear stuck in 3rd or 2nd year. Van wouldn't drive over 45 rpms had to exit freeway fast. Rpms acting sporadically from 0 to 5 dropping rapidly and increasing. My life was at risked due to fast traffic approaching. Semi's, cars and trucks headed towards me at 75 MPH.
Driving my Town and Country Chrysler minivan the engine shutoff on a chicago interstate. I almost got hit by multiple cars behind me as I could not accelerate since the engine shut off. I put on my hazards and pulled over in order to put the van in park and restart the van. My kids were with me. We could have been serously injured if the case behind me had hit me.
