After my car had been sitting at work for about 10 hours, I found that I was unable to get my car out of park. The shifter was locked up, and would not move into gear. I googled the issue, and found that there was an under designed plastic piece in the shifter assembly located under the shift knob that was known to break and cause this issue. I had to tear apart my center console and use a screw driver to manually pull on a cable in order to unlock the shifter and allow me to get out of park. Had I not had the correct tools in my vehicle, I would have been stuck. I had the part replaced, but experienced a second occurrence about 4 months later. This time I found that my car was stuck in gear. I was freely able to move between drive, neutral, and reverse, but was unable to move the shifter into park. …
Went to put the car into drive, could not. Turns out the transmission shifter interlock lever spring hook failed. I found there was a recall (k39) for this part, but it was VIN specific. Saw numerous complaints online as well as repair instruction. Called dealer who stated he hasn't heard of such a problem, but as a coincidence another 300 was being worked on today for the very same reason. Dealer also stated my VIN did not fall within the recall category. Dealer wanted over $400.00 to replace the entire shifter housing instead of replacing the broken part itself and said the job would take about 3 hrs to perform. I went to a car parts store and bought a billeted aluminum replacement part for this specific vehicle. Installed it myself and saved $360.00 and a tow, plus down time. Fix was done in an hour. …
The transmission went out. It was fine then then lights started flickering inside and out and then when I turned the car off and tried to turn it back on it was completely dead. No lights or power at all. Had to get a jump start. Then when I tried to go it was revving up but wouldnt move and then all of a sudden jumped into gear real hard. It had significant loss of power and would get up and go. It's real slow from the start and it dangerous driving it because it will just rev up and not move then jump into gear very hard. It has almost thrown my car into the back of other cars because it jumps so bad I to gear all of a sudden. Then when you try to get out of the way of another car coming g it sometimes barely moves and it very dangerous. It has been stuck in 2nd gear ever since. It had a lot of loss of power. …

The entire dashboard lights begin to flicker on and off, lose power seems car is going to not perform. Has power then sometimes no power.
