What owners report
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the battery was disconnected temporarily to reset the ECM. The check engine warning light was reset; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing abnormal fuel consumption. The contact stated that the fuel economy was 8.2 - 9 miles per gallon while driving and hauling a trailer. The contact related the failure to an unknown GM voluntary recall for Faulty Fuel Injector Flow Rate. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 400.
Due to the Fuel Pump Power Control Module (Part number 13554821) failure, my vehicle stalled in the middle of a turn while pulling a 10,000 pound RV. This caused me to lose both power steering and braking capabilities. From what I gather, this part is part of a "phased" initiative recall (see N252516900 Fuel Pump Power Control Module). This part was seemingly installed in all or most of GM SUVs and Trucks since 2021. Unfortunately, only some 2021-2023 models are under recall due to the "phased" nature of this recall. Meanwhile, all Heavy Duty trucks are driving around on our roadways, highways, and interstates, just like I was, towing heavy machinery, equipment, and RVs because both you and GM are dragging your feet on demanding these flawed modules be removed from these vehicles. …
The contact owned a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the contact noticed flames coming from the cab and the bed of the vehicle. The contact stated that the flames grew bigger and the contact pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. A report was made with the fire department. There were no injuries. Medical attention was sought for mental and emotional purposes related to the incident. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the Vin was not under recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving 70-75 MPH, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle independently decelerated to approximately 50 MPH then down to 40 MPH before being able to pull off on a nearby exit. The contact stated that the vehicle then stalled and lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the fuel pump module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired due to the part being on backorder. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, a warning alarm engaged and advised that there was an emission system issue and the vehicle needed to be serviced within 160 miles. The transmission warning light illuminated. The contact stated that she parked at some point to run an errand and upon restarting the vehicle, a death issue system alarm engaged indicating that the vehicle needed to be repaired within 90 miles. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the failure was diagnosed as a dead issue and one of the pins on the wiring harness had burnt and was starting to melt. The local dealer informed the contact that the death tank and wiring harness needed to be replaced; however, the parts for the repair were not available the vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was not repaired. …

The fuel pump control module was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Prior to 04/25/21 and 08/25/21 I was traveling 60mph on I-205 in the fast lane when my truck went into limp mode. I nearly caused an accident because the truck started shaking, all check engine lights illuminated, and it was challenging to navigate to the right lane and off the highway. This happened on two separate occasions. GM sent a letter dated August 2021 that my truck, "equipped with a 6.6L diesel engine, may have a condition that could cause the engine glow plugs to fail." The letter goes on to say that GM will cover this issue "within 15 years of the date your vehicle was originally placed in service or 150,000 miles (240,000 km), whichever occurs first, the condition will be repaired for you at no charge." GM charged me for the repair. The issue is the language in the letter and the word "condition". …
