My vehicle's headlamps are so dull I can't see at night. I contacted GM and they offered to replace them if I would pay half the cost , which I was going to do , but I had a heart attack and surgery & was in intensive care for almost a month. When I became able to come home , after I missed my appointment due to this situation , I contacted GM and they said they were not going to help me because I didn't have it done in time. My vehicle is always parked in a garage and well kept. The headlamps are VERY dull and dangerous to drive at night. I would like Gm to replace them as I believe this is a manufacture's defect. I was a GM Dealer for several years and don't believe this is their usual practice , giving them the benefit of the doubt. These are dangerous as I can't see at night and oncoming traffic can't see me either clearly. Please help me. This is DANGEROUS!

Noticeable at night. Headlights on, turn signal on, foot on brake slowing down, making a turn, 1) headlights flicker, 2) headlights flicker and complete dash goes black, or 3) all of #2 and steering goes stiff. Has been happening more often. Last time, during the day, turning against oncoming traffic and engine shutdown, started again, shutdown and started, again with dash going black and steering went stiff. When the engine stops and restarts, it does it on its own. I don't need to turn the ignition key. Very unnerving. My wife won't drive the truck. Safety at risk is a "yes". I have noticed when this all happens, the traction control wording comes on the dash and a bell rings. All this has been happening over the last six months. Vehicle only has 94K miles on it.

Not related to my vehicle: Even in my truck, the frequency of oncoming and rear vehicle headlight blinding is of great concern. I have noticed that the problem occurs more often with modified pickups of heavy duty pickups. One simple correction could be to limit the absolute height of any driving headlamps. Additionally, in an effort to improve driver visibility by focusing the beams to a concentrated area of view, vs the old heads where the lights failed at the edges of the field of view has greatly contributed to the problem.

When something is hit (or pot hole/ rough road etc.)stabiltrak warning and check engine lights flickers, all panel lights go out, and vehicle seems to shut down briefly because you can notice AC go warmer. This is a safety issue.

I have a 21014 Chevy K1500 Silverado ([redacted]). In 2019 the vehicle started having issues: Steering system started "fighting" me. When at very low speeds (trying to navigate slow turns as in a parking lot or stopped and starting a turn) the steering system would go back the opposite direction so hard that it would almost pull a muscle in my arm, seemingly wanting to go back to top dead center. Other symptoms of the situation include hot temperatures (90+), Radio on, Air Cond. on, Low speed or stopped, voltage seems low. This had happened many many times to me, to the point that one; I could predict when it would happen, such as making a left turn across traffic at an intersection or parking lot, and two; I would not let anyone else drive the vehicle, because it was a safety issue. I have a video of the issue as I was backing into my garage. …

Cruise control will shut off when using turning signal or rolling up windows. It is very dangerous in busy interstate traffic. Service stabli track and steering assist reduced will come up on display. Power steering is intermittent when turning. Headlights flicker when turning signals are used. Truck will completely shut down for a split second while driving then everything comes back on, complete loss of control when this happens. When knob for headlights is turned from auto to on position the dash and instrument panel gets dim and stabli track and reduced steering assist message comes on. Rear passenger door will not lock using fob, sometimes I will have to hit the unlock button multiple times before door will unlock after lock has been manually pushed down. Passenger seat belt ding is also intermittent, sometimes it will not work at all. …

The vehicle will be in motion and when I try to turn onto a street, or into a parking lot, a warning for service stabilitrak will come on, the steering wheel will lock up, the A/C will turn off, the lcd radio display will go blank, and my headlights will flicker and or turn off. Sometimes the truck shuts off. Has almost caused 2-3 accidents so far... Also while traveling at highway speeds, if I have the cruise control on and I put on my turn signal it will turn off the cruise control, and flicker my radio lcd display, and also cause a service stabilitrak warning. Sometimes when I apply the brake, my headlights will flicker, or turn off. Clearly an electrical issue. When researching the problem online there appears to be a recall for other Silverado's with these same issues, but there isn't one currently under my VIN number, however it appears to be the same problem. …

The factory headlights on the 2014 Chevrolet 1500 series pickup are a safety concern and hazard. The low beam setting is extremely dim and when the roads are wet or at dawn/dusk it feels that you are traveling with the parking lights on. The high beams project well, but disperse quickly. I have owned a 1987 GMC sierra, a 2000 Chevrolet 1500, and a 2002 GMC sierra all of which had perfect illumination systems. GM outfitted the 2014 with a safety hazard. Most of my driving occurs in the arctic, which 6 months of the year is practically dark most of the day. I have almost hit 3 moose this month because I could not see the road ahead under high beam or low beam. I am upgrading my headlight assembly to the cost of $450.00 because it is important to see on our remote roads in alaska. I love the truck in every other aspect, but the stock headlights are going to get someone killed. Thanks.
