I own a 2013 vc CC with about 76,000 miles on it. Car is an excellent condition and is still pretty new when suddenly my car began to shut off while driving. There were no progression of problems. The issue occurred suddenly. While driving on the road or while stationary at a red light, all the sudden while attempting to accelerate, the car would begin jerking and the engine would just rev up as if the car was in neutral position until eventually shutting off and parking and engine indicator lights would turn on. If I was stopped at a light in drive position, the parking light would suddenly turn on and I would have no mobility of the vehicle. The car would still be on, but would not move. I would have to position it in park, restart the vehicle and it would jump start before the same problem occurred again and again and again. …
While traveling on the freeway in san diego, my car started shaking and losing power. Then the epc & check engine lights turned on, on the dashboard. I was barely able to pull over to the shoulder, and drive off the upcoming exit ramp. I lost total engine power, and I had to call the towing truck to take me to the closest dealership, as the car is still under warranty. I waited 5 hours to find out what was happening, as I live in another city. The dealership technician told me that they recorded several piston misfires, but after resetting the computer, the faults never came back. Their internal policy required the fault to be present for the company to comply to replace faulty parts, even when they had the records. They told me they could not help me, and advised to take the car and drive it to the dealership where I lived. …
I was driving on the highway and out of no where it threw its self into neutral and the gear indicator was flashing with a wrench and it can move for like 5 mins then does it again was told the whole MECHtrnical in the transmission
Vehicle purchased with 112,000 miles. At 119,000 the car wouldn't start randomly after driving it all day. Vehicle was parked in my driveway and I was leaving to run an errand and it wouldn't start. There was no indication of any issue. No loud or uncommon noises, no dash lights signaling a problem - nothing! Two days later I had it towed it to a local mechanic and he found a problem with timing chain and head gasket. We are still in the process of having it fully diagnosed, and a price estimate for repairs. I have done a lot of research which indicates this is a very common problem in Volkswagen models like mine. Volkswagen is also aware of the problem and refuses to do anything further about it.
2011 vw sport CC - less than 52,000 miles. Stalls while driving on the interstate. Dealer advised timing chain issues and while repairing the engine they had to replace unreliable parts. Known issue but none under recall. They said a screen shattered in the engine, a known issue is what caused all of this. All manufacturing error. Customer care admitted that and so did the dealer service department. Quote $1400. Then the next day they "discovered" the car needed a new cam shaft. New quote $2200. Nothing under warranty/recall . Vw customer care told me to save my receipts incase a recall comes about but did not care about the safety of the car or the fact they are replacing unreliable parts. If they know they are unreliable why are they not on recall. Wrote a letter to the ceo and got the cost reduced to $1400. …
Went into parking lot and cranked vehicle and selected reverse. The vehicle would not reverse. Shut vehicle off, started again, and pushed accelerator harder. The vehicle moved, but would only accelerate to about 30-40 MPH. Drove car to the dealership where I purchased it. They stated that the vehicle was in safe mode. All of the drive modes were blinking. Dealer did a diagnostic test on the CC. The end result was that the transmission had failed. The CC only has 99,500 miles on it.
I purchased this vehicle as a certified pre-owned in 4/2013 at which time it had 44423 miles on it. I have had all required maintenance, recalls and repairs performed at the dealership that I purchased from. Now after 3.5 years of owning the vehicle and only putting 31,577 miles on it, the car wouldn't engage when trying to park. When parallel parking, I put the car in reverse and it makes a noise like it is trying to go into reverse and if it won't engage the "r" starts flashing and the check engine light comes on. I have to place the vehicle in park (the "p" will then flash) and turn it off and turn it on and then it will work. Usually after driving the car 3 times or so the check engine light turns off and clears, but then a day or so later the same thing happens. This happened least 3 times a week. …
A heavy jerk and bag when the transmission shifts between 1st-3rd gears. Transmission disengages while moving but particularly in stop and go traffic. Vehicle needs to be completely shut down and restarted in order for the transmission to become fully operational again. There is also a hesitation or time lag when shifting from park to reverse before the transmission engages. The vehicle has an automatic dsg transmission. I am not the only owner of a 2010 CC that has been experiencing this problem. I contacted the vehicle manufacturer and I was told that the company's position was to do nothing. This vehicle has 2-3 other recalls on it as well. This is a mechanic issue that can occur at any moment and possess potential hazards when in motion in any driving condition (highway or street). …
