What owners report

I am reporting a catastrophic suspension failure resulting in complete wheel separation on my 2023 Tesla Model X Plaid shortly after Tesla service. While driving, the front left wheel separated from the hub, rendering the vehicle not drivable and creating an immediate risk of loss of control, collision, and serious injury or death. Tesla towed the vehicle back to its service center and issued written service documentation stating (verbatim): "The front left wheel had separated from the hub. The issue was caused by missing hardware on the upper control arm, leading to further damage." Tesla did not attribute the failure to impact, road debris, wear, or misuse. The missing hardware was at a critical suspension attachment point. …

Purchased new Tesla in November 2022, however noticed bulging in the side wall in Left rear tire. Went to Tesla service center again was told that they do NOT provide warranty tire - again purchased new tire again again I do not feel that I did anything to contribute to the bulging in the tire wall I believe the tire was defective and I am very dissatisfied with this brand of the tire replaced 2 tires in 3 months in ownership

Dear NHTSA Safety Investigation Team, I am filing an urgent safety complaint regarding dangerous and premature inner-edge rear tire wear on my 2022 Tesla Model X. I have already been forced to replace five tires due to excessive inner-edge wear, which I believe is caused by improper rear suspension camber. Despite repeatedly raising this concern, Tesla has failed to provide a permanent solution. This is a critical safety hazard, not routine tire wear. The damage occurs on the inner edges of the tires, making it difficult to detect and creating a serious risk of sudden tire failure, loss of vehicle control, and potentially catastrophic highway accidents. Similar complaints from other Model X owners suggest a possible widespread suspension-related defect. …

I was driving on the road send out of no where, While driving the wheel started to shake and felt I was losing control. I I started to Press down on the brake in my car would not slow down as fast as it normally would and I felt that I was pretty much driving on metal. Because I had no control due to the wheel on the passenger front side my car was going in and out of the gravel on the road where I almost flew into a ditch. I got the car to stop And noticed the full rim split completely in half. My safety was at risk because I had a toddler in the car with me as well and something like this should never happen to a brand new car rim and tire

"On August 18, 2023, I was driving at 70 mph on I-95 near the 100-mile mark using Full Self-Drive. The front driver-side suspension housing cracked, causing the bottom part of the suspension to detach. This led to the front tire striking the upper part of the wheel, resulting in a tire blowout. A piece of metal from the suspension fell onto the road and hit the rear driver-side tire, causing it to also blow out. The vehicle lost control and came to a stop on the left side of the road."

I had my car for almost 12 months and have drive ~11000 miles. In the past one month, I started experiencing a violent shudder/vibration during initial acceleration between ~30-40mph. Tesla service has refused to act upon this issue saying they don't have a fix for this issue. They do have a service bulletin SB-21-39-001 issued for this problem but mentioned that this is not a permanent fix for this issue. Finally, nothing was done to address the issue.

At the low speed, the car suspension failed (most likely the control arm) and the vehicle swung to the right and crashed into the car bridge rails. As a result of this, the right front wheel dislodged completely, which would not be possible if there were no mechanical problems with the suspension. Tesla Dublin had worked on my suspension three weeks prior to the accident. I have replaced several sets of tires with this Tesla Model X 2019. After years of dealing with a front end alignment problem, I finally had the repair done with some assistance from Tesla. When I purchased my vehicle under warranty, I reported problems with steering and pulling to one side, but they repeatedly claimed they couldn't replicate. This was before they allowed customers to drive with the repaid team. I mention the front-end problems as that has coupled with the rear tires. Inner wear is a consistent problem. I went to Costco today to have them look at tires I bought in November of 2024 and they said the tire was balding and unrepairable. In fact the tires were showing wear on both sides and needed to be replaced. A full set costs $1400.00+ and this is the second time I'm having to replace tires for wearing out quickly. There's a fix online from a company "N2itive". …
