When I attempted to suddenly brake once I saw the car in front of me braking, my brakes locked and the truck slid into the vehicle in front of me. The failure of the ESC system did not allow the expected intervention that is relied upon to avoid a vehicle crash without prior warning. I was in the deceleration phase of braking quickly, but the brakes did not respond in a timely manner. I was not made aware of the recall of the ABS control module software until after the accident took place. If I would have been made aware of such a defect I would have taken the precautions and action to repair or remedy the failed system to avoid unnecessary risk to both myself and others. …
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the rearview camera failed to display the image in his vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the screen was delaminating and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 32,983.
Trucks guage cluster LCD display information center located behind the steering wheel, does not illuminate, and or work at all anymore. I cannot see warnings, issues with the truck, cautions, information, mileage, use the safety systems included with the truck, use automatic park assist, and know if the air bag system is functioning correctly. Anything that the screen is required for cannot be used, safety systems included. I cannot monitor vehicle temperatures, vehicle hours, or trip miles.. The analog guages work, but that is all. This is a huge safety issue and this should not be an issue. Current mileage is 57,589. The vehicle has been inspected by a certified ram dealer and they have told me I must replace the cluster since i am out of warrenty. …
I am receiving a warning light that reads: Service Shifter, Park sense not available, warning with no display, and the vehicle shifts from drive to neutral with a display message to put the truck in Park then shift to Drive while in motion. My safety is put at risk because when driving I have no warning the vehicle is going to shift itself into neutral and vehicles are driving behind me. I have to make a complete stop because I cannot accelerate in neutral. It has happened twice on a busy street in my city. I took the truck to Sierra RAM and they had the vehicle for 4-days and advised they could not replicate the issue. I drove off and immediately the Service Shifter warning came on. This is my second opinion the first dealer Envision RAM advised it is a software issue causing the warning lights to come on. …
The issues started with the sunroof not closing. And the uconnect touch screen inoperable ( it went black and no options available ) It seemed to be a fluke and resolved itself. But within a few weeks the icons for the driver and passenger seat heaters were no longer on the screen. Now that the season has changed and temps have dropped, the drivers side heater will automatically come on when the truck is started and it's below a certain degree outside. It gets crazy hot and will only shut off when the truck is turned off. This was followed by the icons for the radio options resorting themselves and the one for USB disappearing as well. The usb connection still works, but it has to automatically switch over when plugged in, it cannot be manually selected. Lastly the ParkAssist seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it will function as intended. …
The star connector on the CAN C BUS will start to have communication problems with the all the systems on that star connector approximately after about 15 to 20 min after driving. Systems that were constantly going in and out were the front and rear parking sense, ABS and traction would go out. Service shifter message, caused the transmission to up shift while driving at a constant speed. After getting a check engine light, I hooked up my code reader and had a code for the park sense control module. I proceeded to replace that module and was unable to get the code to go away. Upon further investigation, I found a history code for the CAN C BUS PERFORMANCE code and researched on this topic in the forums with other owners of the same truck and looked for any maintenance for this topic as well. …
My 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel has recurring electrical/communication failures that occur every day. The truck repeatedly displays "ParkSense Temporarily Unavailable," "Service Shifter," "Service Tire Pressure System," and "Tire Pressure Unavailable." The ParkSense sensors often do not activate at all, leaving me without parking assistance while backing up. The system also repeatedly pings with warnings throughout the day. When "Service Shifter" appears, the truck shifts roughly and the transmission does not feel like it is shifting correctly. I am concerned this could indicate an electrical or communication problem affecting the electronic shifter, transmission operation, gear selection, or vehicle control. The truck also has an ongoing water leak around the rear window, including the upper portion and near the sliding window. …
