The Forward Collision Warning System has not functioned on my brand new 2023 Ram Laramie 1500 Limited since I bought it on March 3, 2023. I can make my vehicle available for inspection at your convenience. I feel that this feature, although not standard equipment, not functioning puts both myself and my family at risk through not functioning. The issue has been confirmed by a dealer. Although the system generated no error codes the technician was able to confirm/verify that the forward collision alert system does not engage as designed. I have not received a diagnosis aside from the selling dealer (who refused to test drive the vehicle to verify the failure) telling me that with no error code that they would not be able to diagnose it. The second dealer (who acknowledged the malfunction) noted that it may be a software issue on the attached invoice. …
The Connected Services system in my 2023 Ram TRX regularly displays large, full-screen alerts for emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and lane closures - often when there is no actual hazard present. These alerts are extremely distracting and dangerous. They: Block the entire screen, hiding navigation, camera, and HVAC controls and leaving the screen black until the user interacts with it multiple times to put it back on navigation. Require multiple presses to clear, forcing interaction while driving. Often reactivate within seconds, creating a loop of screen interference. Have triggered during merging, construction zones, heavy traffic, and when passing emergency vehicles or tow trucks, where focus is critical and lives are at risk. Occur falsely 80%+ of the time - no hazard is nearby. Cannot be disabled, according to Stellantis. …
The dash board showed the (A)auto start stop amd the (P) parking brake after hitting a puddle in rain. I brought the vehicle into the dealership for service on 4/18/2025 . They replaced the right rear caliper and EPB actuator and it temporarily fixed it. The lights still came on but would go off in rainy conditions. They came back on and didn't go off so I brought it back to the dealership in again on 3/2/2026. First said they would fix the same part now after having my truck for 2 weeks claim it's not the parking brake actuator but the main wiring harness and refuse to fix it under warranty of their work. I am now told by them they have to replace the entire wiring harness on my expense. Called customer support at ram truck and still haven't heard back if they would do anything
When I was driving on a very busy road, the emergency/ parking brake immediately turned on while the truck was returning back in motion, which made the car come to a complete stop. I had to manually turn off the parking brake, even though I was not the one to turn it on in the first place. This could have put the people behind me in serious danger, as they could have hit me and then been seriously injured. The problem was brought to the attention of the manufacturer, and they had just asked me if I had turned on the brake with my knee. After being met with an apology, I was asked to bring the truck into the servicer the following morning. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and they only appeared after this had happened.
FCW did not provide any audible alert, instrument panel alert, nor braking. I was forced to swerve around stopped vehicles that had stopped abruptly for a problem ahead, narrowly missing the stopped vehicles. Speed under 35 mph. Another instance was at freeway speeds vehicles preforming the " swoop and squat" maneuver to enter my traffic lane. Another instance was when a vehicle was parked (disabled?) in the driving lane and The FCW gave no warnings. I have since tried to make the FCW activate but have not been able to get the FCW to function. Have taken vehicle to dealer and they tell me the computer says the system is working and there are no codes. Really, if it isn't working, there would be not codes.
In two separate instances, after coming to a stop while driving (traffic light/stop sign) when attempting to accelerate the engine revved but car did not move. The car remained in the "run" position and the emergency parking brake engaged. Similarly the display alerted that safety parking brake was activated. Vehicle would not shift out of drive. Issue was remedied by turning engine off and then back on and disengaging the parking brake. This does not happen every time I stop the car and has happened only twice in the past 100 miles.
