I have a 2023 Renegade 4x4. There are several current operating issues and a few which cause an extreme safety hazard: Service forward collision warning light is on Says brake lights out Says left turn signal is out Parking light out Driver seatbelt light Passenger seatbelt light Push to start button - stop/start unavailable Parking brake Airbag light Car turned off when foot idle and parking brake activated Car jolts when foot is taken off of accelerator pedal at 45+mph Car enters into forward collision prevention mode with there is not a vehicle in front. If the vehicle believes the seatbelts are not worn and there are issues with the airbag sensors then there is an extreme safety issue in the event of a collision.
The vehicle warning lights are on, for example the brake lights and turn signal, when these are working. The seat belt alarm goes off when seat belts are on. Vehicle has turned off when in an idled state. I have gone in to get these issues fixed and they came back.
On January 8, 2024, while increasing my speed from 25mph to 35mph, my parking brake automatically engaged and brought my car to a stop in the middle of the road. I quickly turned the car off and back on, and because there were no warning lights or obvious issues, continued to drive. After I increased my speed above 35mph, 3 warning lights were on the dash: Service airbag system, service auto park brake, and start/stop unavailable. I took my vehicle to a local dealership where they diagnosed the issue as a faulty seatbelt sensor. They replaced the seatbelt buckle on January 9, 2024. On April 16, 2024, these issues began to occur again. However, this time, the car did not register that my seatbelt was fastened and the warning light to put on my seatbelt came on along with the service airbag system, service auto park brake, and start/stop unavailable warning lights. …
There is something wrong with this jeep. I keep getting collision messages four-wheel-drive pops on and off on its own and randomly states that it needs to be serviced. The Jeep is hard to accelerate randomly on highway speeds going over 45. The Jeep also drives like a boat despite your front end or back in issues, new tires, etc.. The oil light comes on even when all light is changed it goes in limp mode, which is dangerous the vehicle keeps requiring software updates. It's not a very good model to be driving and it's unsafe on a highway and it's very expensive just to even be looked at for diagnostic yet alone repairing it and so far from experience, it's all electrical issues malfunctioning preventing the vehicle from working properly. I've only had it two years, barely and I wish to get rid of it. I keep going to shops and it's unfair
The contact owned a 2021 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph around a curve, the steering wheel went straight, and she attempted to correct it. The lane departure warning with lane keep assist engaged and began to beep and took control of the vehicle. The vehicle fishtailed, crossed the lane, the driver lost control, and crashed into a ditch. The vehicle flipped on its side. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags were deployed. The driver was wearing a seat belt, but her head smashed through the passenger side window. The driver sustained a concussion, and medical attention was provided. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. I am writing to file a formal safety complaint regarding my 2021 Jeep Renegade, which has been experiencing sudden, unprovoked automatic braking for almost a year. The issue began in Spring [Year], and over the past two months, it has become significantly more frequent. The vehicle brakes sharply on its own even when there are no obstacles, cars, or objects in front of us. This happens at normal driving speeds and creates a serious risk of rear-end collisions-especially dangerous on highways. We have a baby, and this malfunction has put our family in frightening situations multiple times. We've brought the vehicle to the dealer and service center several times, but they claim no error code shows up, so no repair is made. The car is currently at the service center again, and still no resolution. …
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while shifted into reverse, the Back Over Prevention camera screen became distorted.
