I bought this vehicle at hawk Chrysler Dodge Jeep 7911 w roosevelt rd, forest park, il 60130 on 04/8/19 . I drove off the lot without a proper explanation/presentation of my vehicle, no one went over the features with me. When I arrived at home, a family member pointed out that the lcd screen qhere the mileage is displayed was not working. At first I thought it May turn on with one of the button on the vehicle because I've never owned a vehicle like this. After 10 -15 minutes of playing around with buttons I couldn't figure it out and called the dealership, the salesperson said to bring it back for an update. On the way back to the dealership I got into a car accident because I was on my way back to the dealer and I did not realize how fast I was going since mileage was not displayed. Now, I have damage on the front driver side of the vehicle less than 24hrs later. …
2019 Jeep Compass latitude purchase date: 7/14/19 mileage: 26 first incident: 7/16/19 mileage: approx 75 on way home from work approx 7:00 pm. Auto start/stop feature engaged, stopped at stop light in traffic. Engine shut down as normal, traffic light turned green, took foot off of brake to accelerate, car would not accelerate and had to put it into park and press the start/stop engine button to get the car to restart and then ran as normal second incident: 7/18/19 mileage: approx 100 on way home from work approx 5:30 pm. Auto start/stop feature disabled, driving down the road, car in front turning right, slowed down to allow the other car to turn, Compass would not accelerate again afterwards. Pulled over and stopped completely, emergency brake light came on and alerted that it had somehow been engaged (I did not engage it). …
While accelerating onto a highway, my vehicle suddenly shut off. I immediately put hazards on, tried to pull to the side, stopped and tried turning the car back on, after 2 attempts it turned back on but I was scared the entire hour long ride home so drove in the slow lane so that I could pull right off the highway if it happened again. I took the vehicle for service and they said it was the hood latch sensor. They replaced it and it worked fine for a month or so then again this happened while driving down the road about 40 MPH, car suddenly shut off. Again another scary experience. Took the car back and they said the actual hood latch needed to be replaced. Pulled out of service center and it happened again, pulled back in to service center and a day later they called and said hood needed realignment. …
I lease my 2018 Jeep Compass. On four occasions the car has stalled and not been able to operate. Two of the stalling has been in traffic while the car was in motion (highway and intersection). Everytime I take the car in for service the dealership can't duplicate the problem. It did stall again at the dealership so I left it again. On all the occasions dealer had a look they said it was a part that needed to be repaired, then a software update. Then saying they left too much cleaner. Just last week I picked up my car from dealership with a full tank. I drove 100 miles miles and the fuel indicator did not move at all. I know when I have a full tank of gas I have a total range of 326 miles. Then the total range number kept fluctuating. At one point it said I had 328 miles left then went down to 200 then back up to 300 all within 6 miles of driving with a 3/4 tank full. …
Takata recall , in the middle of driving all my warning lights on my dash went off and the car cut my fuel service off, leaving me unable to accelerate, I pulled over in a parking and the steering wheel locked up, I turned the car off and couldn't start it back up as the brake pedal was locked also. I have had this problem numerous times and visited the dealership plenty times and they aren't able to diagnose a real problem , it's a recurring problem. A new computer was put in it also and I still have problems.
I bought my car in 2018 brand new with less than 10 miles. In the first few months, it required a brand new radio system and rear camera replacement. In some months following that, I have had my car stop on me while driving, approximately 4-5 times with only excuses as to why the car would unsafely do this. First time was an update that needed to be done. Second time was the keyfob battery but accused it of being lack of oil changes (I don't need to go to the dealership for oil changes). Next, was no explanation at all. Last was yesterday when it died twice in one day in the middle of the road. They called to let me know that it probably is because my oil is 3/4 way depleted even though I had an oil change done less than 3K miles ago. Their suggestion is that I return every 500 miles so they can top me off if the oil seems to be an issue. …
On Tuesday, 9/15/2020 I went to turn on my Jeep Compass from my driveway and it would not start. However the check engine light came on. Later that evening I tried starting my Jeep again, it started with no problem, and the check engine light was now off. On Friday, 6/18/2020 I took my vehicle to advanced auto where they checked my battery, alternator, and starter - all 3 items came back good. On my way home from advanced auto I was stopped at a traffic light on south railroad street in palmyra, pa. When the light turned green for me to go, I went to release my foot off of the brake and the vehicle just completely shut off - it was just completely dead, nothing was working. I then went to put my foot back on the brake, and I felt pressure underneath the brake that wouldn't allow me to completely press it down. …
My 2016 Jeep Compass began stalling while idling at stop lights as well as stalling while driving last week. I've googled and I see that several Jeep owners are having this issue as well. I've not found a recall for my specific VIN, however, there was one issued for Dodge and jeeps manufactured from May, 8, 2016 - July 12, 2016. Crankshaft and camshaft sensor wire harness not manufactured correctly, this is mainly for 2.0 l and 2.4 l engines. Recall # s89/NHTSA hov-907. This is outrageuous! Auto shops can't seem to diagnose this issue properly, but somehow the NHTSA did! My car is in the shop as I write this, I"ve missed two days of work and I am very upset that this vehicle has been sold, and so-called inspected prior to being sold. This recall was issued back in January of 2017, the statement was dated February 2017. …
