1) the driver side door is not closing completely. Upon a visual inspection I noticed that the hinge weld has started to fail. I have not taken any corrective action with this problem. I noticed that there has been an investigation with this same problem. 2) my wife was involved in an accident and the airbag did not deploy. The vehicle that she was driving was hit in the rear by another Jeep Cherokee travelling at approximately 30 MPH. The other vehicle Jeep Cherokee involved did not deploy it's airbag either. The damage to our Jeep Cherokee was approx $3,000 to repair. I feel that the damage was sufficient enough to warrant the air bags deployment. If there are any further questions please contact me.
I was leaving my parking space in the second line of cars and was proceeding to move forward and then to make a right hand turn. As I placed my hands, my left hand at noon and my right hand at 6 and just initiated the turn, I heard a 'click' that came from the steering column. At that point the air bag deployed causing me to turn left instead of right and then into the first row of cars. The impact forced my hands off the wheel and the position of the car from turning right to a left. As I was propelled forward the air bag dropped and I hit my chin and neck on the steering wheel because the air bag was down. Luckily I had my seat belt on.
Was in an accident and the driver's side air bag didn't deploy . Consumer states collision was a direct frontal hit, driver was injured in accident due to hitting steering wheel very hard, consumer took vehicle to dealer for recall repair, 95V057.
Driver proceeded out of parking space, there was a click sound that came from the steering column; at that point the airbag deployed; the driver was propelled forward for the airbag had pushed his/her arm off the wheel causing the car to go forward and toward the left; driver hit a vehicle that was parked; the deployment of the airbag left burns on the drivers forearm, face and neck. The second impact, caused driver to hit her chin and neck on the steering wheel; driver was stunned and was able to get some assistance. Police arrived and driver went to the doctors.
Consumer has been experiencing problems with on/off air bag sensor. Ever since putting vehicle in the shop for regular service, air bag sensor light stays illuminated. The manufacturer believes that the bag was tampered with during service. The manufacturer has yet to be contacted.
While driving down the street the consumer's air bag deployed prematurely causing the consumer to hit the auto in front of her. The consumer received a blow from the air bag on her left arm, stomach and upper chest. It also hit her in the nose which she thinks is broken.
Had heavy rains, road wet, driving onto ramp, hit a puddle, spun around few times, rolled over onto frwy, shoulder belt did not hold, air bag did not deploy, head went through windshield.
