instrument panel warning light w/driver & air bag is on! Stopped by the Honda Dealer & was told It wasn't safe for me to drive for if I got into an accident the bag wouldn't work! I'm [redacted] & drive in traffic to shop! They told me it would be expensive just to check it. I don't feel I have done anything to cause the problem but would like to be under recall so I could have it fixed! Now I don't feel safe driving it!
Passenger air bag lights continuously on. Took to mechanic, mechanic said it's most likely a bad sensor or a wiring issue that's causing the failure. That's all I could find out without tearing into it any further. He ran all the tests and nothing shows that the sensor is bad. But he said it doesn't make sense that it's showing it's bad. He is leaning towards wiring. Wiring??? I haven't touched that.
I have a 2007 Honda Pilot. While just taking off again from a stoplight, the passenger side, "curtain-side" airbags randomly deployed. The airbag light had been flickering on and off - it would then be on for a few moments, and turn back off, flicker again, and remain off, for about a day and a half, two days prior to this happening. There was no collision. There was no pothole. There was no harsh breaking or takeoff. There was no agitation to the vehicle to demand this deploy. It happened out of nowhere and for no reason. I have called my insurance company to total out the vehicle as the repairs will cost more than the vehicle is worth. I am waiting for a call back, though they were extremely hesitant and said that they most likely will not cover because there was no collision. The Pilot was in perfect working condition prior to this event. …

Thank you NHTSA safecar.gov for your ?recalls look-up by VIN? Feature it May have saved my life during March 2015 purchase of a Honda Pilot 2007. My complaint addresses how American Honda and an independent dealer May be the tip of a growing "recall safety issue." first, parts for a fatality recall since September 2014 are on back-order and; the dealer?s customer-service representative treated the issue as a "used car" buyer?s problem. The dealer?s service representative stated: well, the recall has been going on since October 2014! As noted above, I did not purchase the vehicle until March 2015. I had no knowledge of the recall until I read a recent article in consumer reports. In addition, American Honda?s customer-service representatives "ultimely" support the dealers position not the consumer. …
I received a safety recall notice from Honda and called my local dealership, autopark Honda, on May 14, 2015 to schedule an appointment for the air bag repair. I was told that the part needed to be ordered and that someone would call me back when the part was in to schedule an appointment. I did not hear anything back from autopark Honda. I received another safety recall notice from Honda and called autopark Honda again on August 14, 2015. They stated that the part ordered for me back in May 2015 had not yet been received and asked me to call back in another week to check on it. For a safety recall that is supposed to involved potentially fatal malfunctioning of the air bags, I think that a 3 month delay in parts is unacceptable. It is not acceptable to notify vehicle owners of serious concerns but then not offer them a repair within a reasonable amount of time, no greater than 60 days.
We experienced a burning odor in the car cab, the air bag indicator lit and the A/C temperature rose to the outside air level. When taken to my car tech, he found that there was a fire on the right cabin wiring harness near where the harness enters the cabin. This fire burnt up all the wiring for several feet and disabled the A/C, front lights and air bag systems. If we had not caught this issue when we did, the engine could have had a fire even when not driving (I.e. In the garage at night). Our repairman also remarked that the airbags could have deployed at anytime when on the road. Obviously serious injury could have occurred! This was determined to be caused by a factory defect in manufacture. This problem was caused because the area of the engine where the wires passed through had rough edges resulting in wire fatigue and damage to the wire harness.
I called south hills Honda, 3663 washington rd, mcmurray, pa 15317 on October 12th, 2016 for passenger side air bag replacement and it has been over 2 months with no call back indicating this part is available for replacement. Honda knew that this part would need replaced when they replaced the same air bag in the drivers side. When I had drivers side replaced shh made we wait until I threatened to contact Honda motor company as to my having to wait for two plus hours on a scheduled 15 minute repair. Now Honda and shh are requesting I keep the front passenger seat unoccupied while I wait for this repair, except they are not being responsible to get this done in a timely manner.
Tl* Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 300,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE14-016 in June 2014 based on six inflator rupture incidents involving consumer owned vehicles produced by five vehicle manufacturers. All six vehicles were operated in Florida or Puerto Rico at the time of the rupture and for the majority of their service life, and were equipped with inflators produced by Takata, a tier-one supplier of automotive air bag…
Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.
