NHTSA defect investigations
Federal safety investigators have looked into 3 possible defects involving the 2007 Honda Pilot:
Air Bag Inflator Rupture
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE14-016 in June 2014 based on six inflator rupture incidents involving consumer owned vehicles produced by five vehicle manufacturers. All six vehicles were operated in Florida or Puerto Rico at the time of the rupture and for the majority of their service life, and were equipped with inflators produced by Takata, a tier-one supplier of automotive air bag…
Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.

instrument panel warning light w/driver & air bag is on! Stopped by the Honda Dealer & was told It wasn't safe for me to drive for if I got into an accident the bag wouldn't work! I'm [redacted] & drive in traffic to shop! They told me it would be expensive just to check it. I don't feel I have done anything to cause the problem but would like to be under recall so I could have it fixed! Now I don't feel safe driving it!
Passenger air bag lights continuously on. Took to mechanic, mechanic said it's most likely a bad sensor or a wiring issue that's causing the failure. That's all I could find out without tearing into it any further. He ran all the tests and nothing shows that the sensor is bad. But he said it doesn't make sense that it's showing it's bad. He is leaning towards wiring. Wiring??? I haven't touched that.

Dealer sold me a lemon car with broken and rotten parts on the car. Dealer never stated the car was messed up or needed the major work it needs now. Dealer at one point took the car to go get inspected at a shop located on 705 Jefferson Ave , "and hour later he came back with the car and parked it. Couple days later dealer called me to go get the inspector form form the inspector " Gilbert/Tony". While viewing the paper correctly, the car was never inspected properly. Once I was able to take the car to a shop to do my own inspection they stated to me that I was sold a lemon car and it would be almost thousands to fix the car "more then i had purchase the car. I called the dealer back multiple times and sent msgs to the dealer regarding the vehicle dealer then blocked my number and the mechanics phone I used to call him after he blocked my number. …
I was driving the car on a one way street. When the A/T Temp came on, the car slowed down and then eventually stopped. I was 1min from my destination. I got it towed home, til I can get it to the shop. I just brought the car. The mechanic said the transmission has a lot of metal piece inside of it.

My 2007 Honda Pilot has an electrical problem! If my car sits more than 4 days without being driven or started the battery goes dead! I've had it to Honda & they can never find a problem! I bought new batteries & it still is the same. Weather has nothing to do with it. It happens summer & winter. Honda told me something drains the battery but no idea. This has been a problem since being new!
