The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V027000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My driver seat belt keeps unlatching . It happens to often. I know there was a previous recall for it but everytime I look it up it doesn't show on the website. I previously reported here I think last year. Also when shows as an error on the obd reader. As a failing seat belt system recall. My insurance company shows the driver air bag is recalled but again when I look it up here . You list no information about these recalls and it's scary since both are critical.
Takata recall in January, 2014, I left the road to avoid another car, hit a deer-crossing sign which then deployed the drivers airbag. The airbag blasted out to the right of the steering wheel thus hitting my right arm. My right arm was broken and required surgery to repair. 2 titanium plates and 15 screws. Black cloud of what must have been a propellant was pumped into my face and upper body. The skin on my right hand peeled 4 times.
Tl- the contact owns a 2001 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate when pressure was applied to the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be repaired. The torque converter was replaced instead of replacing the transmission as it was recommended by the mechanic, but Honda motor co had the final word. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The contact also stated that the vehicle intermittently stalled while driving at various speeds. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was once involved in a crash in which the air bags did not deploy. …
Honda sent an "important safety recall" to me. It stated that the parts needed to repair my vehicle are not available. It said no action should be taken by me until parts are made available. I called Honda whose representative stated: 1) the notice really wasn't very important and was only issued to meet a NHTSA requirement. 2) there have only been three incidents and those involved derelict cars in scrap yards. 3) most affected vehicles would only require inspection and not a replacement part. There have been widespread press reports of a fatality and an injury caused by this defect. "BMW says in documents posted by the U.S. Government Wednesday that another australian and a driver in cyprus were injured." https://www.cnbc.com/2019/12/04/Takata-recalls-1point4-million-potentially-dangerous-air-bag-inflators.html the absence of parts does not prevent an inspection. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2001 Honda Odyssey. The contact was driving 10 MPH when a vehicle crashed into the front driver's side of the vehicle and the air bags deployed. The contact sustained injuries to both hands and the face as a result of the deployment and stated that he believed that the slight impact should not have triggered the air bag deployment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The dealer confirmed that the air bags, as well as the seat belts needed replacement. In addition, the dealer confirmed that the impact to the vehicle did not constitute air bag deployment. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
We received a recall notice in March 2020 for the airbag of our Honda Odyssey. Turns out the recall dates back to January 17. Honda let us drive the vehicle and put our lives at risk for nearly two months. As of today, Honda did not reply to our letter about airbag replacement nor did they contact us to get the vehicle repaired. The vehicle could not be operated since March and expenses for it are climbing.
SRS light on my Honda Odyssey. Had an small accident and the airbags didn't not deflate, lights been on for 2 yrs and the dealer says the will still drive without fixing the issue. Took it the dealership and he is charging me a diagnostic fee, when he knows what the issue is, and then he says that there will be a fee to fix it but he cannot give me an estimate before charging me a diagnosis fee.
I received mail stating my airbag could kill me if it's not replaced. It's been 90 days since I got that correspondence. It said 60 days I would hear back again because Honda doesn't have the parts. This is my daily driver and I feel as if Honda doesn't care since it's been 30 days beyond what I was told and still haven't gotten it fixed.
My 2001 Honda Odyssey just recently shows that the red SRS light stays on continually while driving the vehicle. The owners manual indicates that some part of the safety restraint system is malfunctioning. This May include the air bag or seat belt tensioning system.
