Sun GMC refused to fix our airbag recall because we didn't buy it from them. There was a disturbance after the fact. They new is warrantied work and sent us away without fixing it leaving us open to getting hurt.

I was driving a GMC Sierra 2500 (2015) truck on a road (speed limit 65 MPH) and was stopped to make a left-hand turn into a state part. A driver hit me in the rear at a high speed. The powder from the airbag compartments filled the truck cap but the air bags did not deploy.

While driving straight/upslope on a dirt road the side air bags deployed in my 2015 Sierra 2500 hd pickup truck. There was no impact and absolutely no damage to the exterior or undercarriage of the vehicle. Vehicle would not restart for several minutes after the air bag deployment (if on a busy street I would have been unable to get out of roadway)

2015 Sierra 2500 · 15,000 miles · May 2016

2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD. My dash has started to crack around the passenger airbag and driverside gauge cluster. Dash material is brittle and serves as a hazard should the airbags deploy during an accident.

2014 Sierra 2500 · Nov 2023

Dashboard under front windshield prone to cracking. Initially this would sound like it is only a cosmetic issue. The problem is that typically the first crack occurs at the front/left corner of the front passenger airbag panel. As the vehicle ages under temperature fluctuation and uv exposure the initial crack widens and more develop. Also, from pictures taken of a 2007 GMC yukon and 2007 Chevrolet avalanche the airbag compartment cover appear to be shifting and lifting as the cracking continues. The degraded plastic surrounding the airbag cover could be a shrapnel hazard to vehicle occupants in such close proximity to an explosive airbag deployment. This could also diminish the effectiveness of the airbag if it is punctured. …

I was traveling east bound on i26 when the Bosch fuel pump exploded and sent metal shavings throughout the fuel system. It's the same pump GM has settled a class action lawsuit when I spoke to the adjuster I was told.my truck wasn't included but yet it has the Bosch fuel pump the lawsuit is for cost me 10000 to repair. I have repair bill. And then I was in a accident and the air bag curtain deployed but the passenger side and driver side did not I think there's a recall on the also.

2013 Sierra 2500 · Mar 2022 · crash

I called my local GMC dealer (Maxwell GMC, Round Rock, TX) in regard to the Takata Air Bag recall to get some details about the repair (e.g. length of time for repair, parts availability, etc.) In addition to their reponse regarding the length of time and parts availability I was told that their was a high probability that the dash on my truck would crack during the airbag repair. I was also told that the GMC dealer would not cover the cost of the dash damage as a result of the airbag recall work. Shouldn't the repair of the air bag cover any related costs as a result of the repair such such as damage to the dash?

Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture

NHTSA investigation EA21002 · opened Sep 17, 2021 · open

From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.
