This is a very unsafe vehicle. I purchased it for my husband and have seldom drove until recently when he was injured driving it. He drove through our garage and demolished it. I how drive it and find the brake and gas pedals the worst problem. No matter what shoes or boots you are wearing you cannot control the vehicle. It has cost us thousands in damage and repairs. I do not have pictures, but will obtain them and forward them. The car was just pulling up to be parked outside by out garage when the problem occured. The weather was fine-August 2017. It was just getting dark. This vehicle should be taken off the road asap until it is repaired or replaced by GMC. My son drives a used GMC and it has none of these problems. The picture I am sending you is of (ben), a technician at bretting manufacturing, inc. In ashland. …
"Takata recall" when I first start the car and begin to accelerate the traction control system activates causing lose of power - very dangerous when pulling out into traffic. I have to disengage the system on the shift handle to prevent this from happening. I am also experiencing the ABS problem of activation when coming to a stop in all conditions. It is already a recall for GMC vehicles up to 2004 but obviously not corrected. The traction control system activates every time after first starting the car. The ABS system is sporatic. No warning that it is about to happen. These systems fail daily without exception.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. While driving various speeds, the service stabilitrak warning indicator periodically illuminated. Also, the stabilitrak active indicator periodically illuminated, which caused the vehicle to stall. When the contact released and re-applied the accelerator pedal, the stabilitrak deactivated and the vehicle functioned normally. Occasionally, when the brake pedal was depressed, the brake pedal vibrated violently and the vehicle hesitated to stop. When the vehicle was stationary and the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle accelerated forward. Furthermore, the driver's seat was unable to move forward. When attempting to adjust the seat manually or with the power position adjuster, the seat failed to adjust until after a period of time. …
GMC has known that they have intermittent stabilitrak system since oct 1-2008. Don't know if it actually shuts off ABS brakes or just sets indicator lights off. Comes on more frequently in cold months. TSB #08-05-25-005 why should consumer pay for either defective steering yoke yaw sensor, reprogramming or new $400 ebcm or $250 dealer service charge each time it comes up. In winter, another article said it was bad connectors. That would be a mfg defect as well. Always comes up in sharp slow speed turns. Already paid for two front hubs as they said it was the speed sensor, problem was not resolved. Braking or known stabiltrak problem over several years should warrant a recall not TSB where the cost is absorbed by the vehicle owner.,
Tl*- the contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy denali. There was a vibration in the vehicle when the gas pedal was applied while traveling between 30 and 40 MPH. The vehicle would also vibrate at any speed. It felt and sounded as if it needed to shift gears, as in a manual vehicle, but was in the wrong gear. It was involved in a crash in November 2006. Two dealers stated that there was a technical service bulletin that referenced the failure, but there was nothing they could do to correct it. When engaging the brake the vehicle would move forward and a noise could be heard. The noise frequently occurred after a quick stop. This failure had occurred during the same period of time. The dealer diagnosed the failure, and stated they have repaired the noise, but it continued to occur. The current mileage was 14,000, and the failure mileage was 13,118.
While attempting a full stop after pulling into parking lot, vehicle would not stop, ABS came on and prevented Envoy from reaching full stop. Had to put vehicle in neutral and use e-brake. Occurred 4 more times before I could take for service. Mechanic diagnosed issue with ABS sensors, although sensors did not report as faulty. Online research indicates this was a common GM failure from 02-08 in trucks in areas where salt/snow is prevalent. Remedy was disable traction control and ABS, cant afford to replace front bearings and rear sensors. Problem only occurs intermittently, and only when attempting stop from low initial speeds.
All the gages have stopped working correctly. They do not report proper information to driver . The electrical wiring to the rear wiper, license plate lights and rear hatch stopped working. The most dangerous thing is the ABS brake system dash lights and bell comes on every time the car is driven and the brake pedal goes to the floor when trying to stop.
Accelerating while entering a freeway, took foot off the gas and the vehicle continued to accelerate. Applied brake but vehicle continued to accelerate. Put vehicle in neutral to try and slow down and again applied brake. Vehicle began to spin to the right and we hit the guard rail, hitting the passenger rear bumper and the driver's side front bumper. Side air bags deployed. Car spun into the middle travel lane and began to spin around. Car was slowing down and was able to turn car off. Fortunately no other cars were involved. An off duty sheriff's deputy stopped and said he noticed smoke and thought the car was on fire but no fire occurred. When state police arrived they asked us to move the car to the break down lane. Was able to put car in reverse and backed car to breakdown lane. Tried to put car in drive but car wouldn't go forward.
