The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150 equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Dueler, Tire Size: 275/65/R18, DOT Number: 98YIDOL. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer to have the deflated passenger's side rear tire repaired, the dealer informed him that there was tread separation on all four tires. The contact also stated that there were cracks in between the tread. The tires were not replaced; however, they were patched. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 93,000. The tire failure mileage was 70,000.
This is our 2nd time reporting this back 4 years ago our vehicle downshifted suddenly. Causing our vehicle to drop speed tremendously. We called the dealership to let them know what happened and they said they have had several complaints at the time of these trucks doing this. It caused the rear tires to lock and slide. We ended up loosing control and running of the road and wrecking the truck and messing up the front. FORD HAS STILL NOT FIXED THIS VEHICLE
Truck randomly downshifts/ jerks really hard while driving all speeds. On 4/19 I was driving 65mph and truck felt like slamming brakes on, while speedometer pin bounces around, then a wrench showed up on the dash screen, I pulled over turned truck off sat for a few minutes, turned it back on, everything seemed finer and continued driving home, with no more issues. On 4/27 I was coming home from groccery store going about 30-35mph truck dropped down to first gear and then back to 4th gear. My pregnant wife and daughter were in the car when this happened. I've called local Ford dealership, and they ask me to come in for diagnosis, but I know this is a factory recall issue via 24V-444. I'm not sure if the truck is safe to drive, this randomly happens, but seems to be happening more and more frequently past 2 months or so
I purchased a set of 4 LT275 /65 R18 BF Goodrich K02 tires on 8/19/2022 from Discount Tire. I notice some cracking along the front passenger side wall. I took it to Discount Tire and the verified that all four tires were doing the same thing. My family was driving at high speeds multiple places the days before finding this out. It should be able to be confirmed. It was inspected by the store. I had no prior issues with the tires.
Took vehicle in for service for oil change and balance/rotation. Shop advised that lug nuts were swollen and had trouble removing them and they need to be replaced. Research has shown that this is a known issue with Ford and there has even been litigation filed against Ford regarding this issue, but I could not locate a recall campaign.
Defected original lug nuts. Experienced lug nuts that had swollen and could no longer be removed from the wheels using a normal socket. High risk to be stranded if needing to change spare tire. Concern for overall wheel stability due to not being secure / tight due to mushrooming Expensive to replace.
Swollen lug nuts. Was advised by Paradise Ford, Cocoa, FL dealership all 24 needed to be replaced. My cost $124.00. The service technician stated to me, "it's a bad design, Ford should cover this."
Bought new tires. Tire center had issues with the two piece lug nut systems that came installed from factory. They were swollen and had moisture in them. Had to have replacement lug nuts installed.
While traveling on the highway we saw looked out the rearview mirror and saw white/gray smoke coming up from between the truck bed and the cab of the truck. We exited the freeway. While exiting the white/gray smoke turned to black then flames shot up. We pulled over and got out as the flames continued to grow. We attempted to put out the fire but it grew very fast. The back glass exploded and the entire cab and front of the vehicle was engulfed. 911 was called. Firefighters arrived and put out the fire. The vehicle and contents were a total loss. The fire department reports states that the fire was caused by a mechanical failure in the engine compartment or under the passenger compartment causing flames to show from the back of the vehicle and causing heavy damage to the front of the vehicle and passenger compartment.
We were on our way back from vacation in south carolina doing the speed limit of 70 and all of a sudden I heard a loud bang, the front passenger side dropped down on the truck. The truck lost control and went into a guard rail, the air bags deployed, the rear end of the truck came around and the truck began to flip. Once the truck came to a stop they had to cut the roof off and windshield to get us out. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital and my son followed with the sheriff and our dog. There is no explaination to why the passenger side tire came off with only a few marks and fully intact. The mystery to everyone is why is there only half a rim??? The rim was off the vehicle along with the tire being off the rim in the middle of the road. The sheriff looked along with other people to not find the other half the rim. …
