The contact owns a 2009 Ford Edge. The contact stated that there was a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. Additionally, the contact noticed that fuel was leaking from the vehicle onto the ground. The contact who is as an independent mechanic, diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel tank was leaking at the spot welds located on the upper part of the tank and at the mounting points on the fuel tank. The contact stated that the fuel tank was previously replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the recall a second time, and that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.
Fuel tank leaking at spot welds and mounting points. Fuel tank recall performed [redacted] @ 54,758 miles. We purchased the vehicle from a ford Dealer in Alpena MI Dean Arbour Ford in August of 2018. I have contacted this dealer about this issue as well as the Customer Care Center of Ford Motor Company. All tell me they only had a 2 year warranty on the repair. My concern is the recall was performed but did not fix this issue due to the same situation is happening with-in the same amount of time from manufacture date to the date of the original recall. They did not rectify the safety concern from the original recall they just replaced with the same style tank knowing it would fail again.
We were smelling gasoline in our garage and the smell was coming from car. The car was taken to a local shop where it was hoisted and a gasoline leak discovered at the "seam" of my gas tank. We were instructed to return the car to the dealership as it May have a recall and was clearly a manufacturer defect. My husband called avis Ford who in fact instructed us to bring the car in. We had the car towed at our expense of over $80.00 only to get to the dealership and have them say there was an error and that the 2009 Edge did not have a recall. There have been recalls on tanks on models from 2007 up to 2014 but apparently not the 09. The leak is apparently a manufacturer defect and not caused by damage to the tank from a foreign object striking it . It is terribly frightening to me to know that Ford has not stepped up to the plate and maybe only a fatality would force them to so. …
I received a letter from Ford about nov/dec 2017 advising me of the recall issues for my vehicle. I have not been able to speak to a Ford customer service rep, and my dealer nor the finance company know what to do. I received a more recent letter from Ford with options and stating that the parts required are still not available. I need to speak to someone because I am afraid of all the recall issues surrounding my vehicle. I keep the maintenance up on my vehicle but I have been experiencing safety issues while driving, like my vehicle threatens to stop for no apparent reason while I'm driving it. I can't afford to continually pay for repairs or even just be without my vehicle because I'm the only income for my family!

2009 Ford Edge AWD 80K miles strong gas smell and evidence of leak seen in driveway prompted visit to mechanic. Leak discovered coming from corroded seam of fuel tank on passenger side. No check engine light ever alerted me that there was a problem. Internet search revealed fuel tank recall of 128,000 Ford Edge and Lincoln mkx cars built at oakville assembly plant between September 1th, 2008 through July 1st, 2010. My car was built at that plant at that time but I was never informed of the recall.(fomoco recall number: 15s31) I called Ford and they said my car was not included in the recall.
Driving home after I picked up the kids from school. I had a strong smell of gasoline in the cabin of my car. We were cr 108 not even a mile from my dirt road (willie hodges rd) I rolled down the windows, I have 3 kids, and made it home. I saw there was a recall on some 2009-2010 edges for faulty gas tanks. I looked up the VIN and the only recall I have on my car is for air bags, which they have yet to resolve. I have a feeling my Edge was installed a faulty fuel tank.

I can smell fuel coming from the rear of the car. Sometimes it leaks enough to leave stains on the street. Took it to metro Ford of oklahoma city and they said my car was not included in any type of recall. After reading about the recall Ford issued on many previous models, I feel that my problem is being avoided and they aren't concerned about my family's safety. Very upset. Why is my gas tank leaking fuel?
It started stalling, and losing power while driving. When the ac is turned on it started driving rough at low speeds but when the ac is off it runs rough at high speeds. The throttle body seems to beessed up it now runs rough and idles rough. It's almost like it doesn't have the correct fuel to air ratio.
