What owners report
I purchased a used Toyo tire (model Extensa A/S or 436) from a tire shop in Houston, TX on [redacted]. I was assured it was in good condition, but less than three weeks later, the tire showed severe sidewall cracks, dry rot, and bulging. I was stranded at 1 a.m. due to this failure, and when I inspected the tire myself, I found clear signs of structural damage that should have been caught before the sale. I tried to bring this to the attention of the shop. Instead of a resolution, I was spoken to disrespectfully and hung up on. The owner admitted to giving me a discount because of showing up late to fix the tire, though I never asked for one I simply wanted a safe, working tire. A used tire should still last 1 to 3 years, and this one didn't last three weeks. This presents a serious road hazard, and I believe this business is knowingly selling unsafe used tires. …

I am sharing my experience regarding byers Kia of lewis center and salesperson kyle cain. Friends, on Saturday, March 30, 2019 I purchased and financed a vehicle through byers Kia on columbus pike in lewis center, ohio. The vehicle was a 2017 Dodge Journey gt with approximately 42,000 miles. The salesperson was kyle cain, and his manager as I understand it is bob pollock. The Saturday I took possession of the vehicle it was raining heavily so I wasn't able to inspect the entire vehicle and did not get a close look at the front tire tread. I traded in my 2016 Chevy cruze lt along with bringing $4,500 to the table. The next day, Sunday I was able to inspect the vehicle more thoroughly and discovered that the front tires were both unsafe and unsatisfactory. Monday morning, April 1, 2019 I contacted kyle cain and told him
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 Dodge Journey equipped with kumho solus kh16 tires, size: p225/65r17. While driving 60 MPH, the front passenger tire turned to the right. The vehicle was taken to stew hansen Dodge Ram Chrysler Jeep (located at 12103 hickman rd, urbandale, ia 50323, in 46809, [phone]) where it was diagnosed that the tire belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was associated with NHTSA campaign number: 18t004000 (tires). The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 25,823.
I had a flat tire and I went to change the flat for the spare but I found out that the lug nut wrench that Dodge supplied with my Dodge Journey crossroad was the wrong size. I had to then drive the vehicle off the main road to safety causing more damage to the rim.
This is the second time the rear ABS wheel speed sensor failed. My vehicle has 26,651 miles on it. This caused me to have to pull over on an interstate in order to check to see what was happening. This was a safety concern for me and I asked the dealership they said it's a known issue but no recalls on it.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey equipped with kumho solus kh16 tires, size: p225/65 r17. The contact took the vehicle to executive Dodge Jeep (406 s orchard st, wallingford, ct 06492, [phone]) for a tire rotation and was informed that the rear tires were wearing unevenly and an alignment was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 24,000.
When accelerating vehicle pulls more one way (right). When at steady speed vehicle holds direction but if getting on the freeway or accelerating after stopping, I have to strongly correct the vehicle's direction. Concerned there is a possibility of brakes not fully releasing after stopping and is only noticeable because of the speed (entering the freeway) or full stop was made.
