End of valve stem shot out of stem while trying to air up tire, end corroded and broke, replaced stem and sensor unit. Seems that this is a serious problem with the metal types that are put on and installed at the factory on these models cars. Even service station (Firestone) said they have collection of bad stems on these vehicles. I got lucky that I noticed air pressure indicator light was on an took it to station to air up tire when I tried to put air in tire and end shot out like a rocket and then I lost all the air in my tire. What has to be done to have this issue taken care of by the manufacturer when these are obviously defective. Does some one have to be driving down the road get in an accident because the stem blows out and they get a flat or blow a tire. …
My 2009 Dodge Journey has less than 18000 miles on it, I drive a total of 9-10 miles both ways to work. I've had to replace the brakes twice for rusting out. Peeved at the tech's comment "you don't drive it enough" as if I am stupid woman. In 2010 I ask for my tires to be checked cause they were constantly low, looking at my invoice from 1/18/10 I asked for them to be checked and all they did was correct pressure. Now I hear about these stems prematurely cracking and after just buying my first replacement set of tires was told, 3 of the stems are cracked and they (tire dealer, not car dealer) couldn't replace cause they have some sensor chip in them. In addition, the tires would consistently lose pressure until the stems are replaced.
My Dodge Journey will not always start it will just click then after several attempts it will start. My drivers side door the power window does not work it just stopped working. Now my gear shift does not want to shift into gear, start the car up the cas traction light is on and the gear will be stuck. So I have to turn the car off several times then I am able to move the gear shift. It is very frustrating to get in your car and you cannot either start it or it just do not move .
Tires wore down at an alarming rate at just under 100 miles and brake pads also. Doesn't start at some times..just a click...turns off for no reason...when in park it acts like it wants to move forward ...cannot keep an alignment
Brakes, allignment, drive shaft was bent...4th set of tires purchased in feb. 2013 gas tank & fuel pump needed replaced April 2013 caliper locked up causing fire, vehicle needed to be towed May 2013.
The in-tire pressure monitor failed. The car was traveling at highway speed. This was a sudden loss of tire pressure. The tire went flat is less than 1 second. The tire was shredded and destroyed.
At 11K miles I had to have front brakes replaced. Shortly after that my back brakes had to be replaced and my back rotors were warped. The dealer told me I had exceeded the 12K manufacturer warranty and had to pay for repair. After researching consumer reviews and having read of numerous complaints on brakes / rotors I sent a letter to Chrysler along with complaints. I did not receive any letter, not a phone call, just a check for repayment of brake work. Since then I have had my censor light come on twice for the tires and up until now, after reading from this website was I unaware this vehicle appears to have problems with tires as well. My vehicle is currently in the shop. I had taken in twice for a noise that was coming from the front passenger side. The first time I was told they could not find anything. …
At 2000 miles on my 2009 Dodge Journey I started having problems with my front passenger window sticking, and brakes squeaking. Also car not shifting when taking off and when you slow down and try to speed back up. I took it in. They told me maybe sap in window and brakes fine. Three days later window acting up again. Took it in. Same reason. Cleaned and greased. This is the eight time I've taken it in. They have replaced motors, switches, tracks, seals and now wont roll up or down . The brakes have been an issue since the start. At 21000 miles the dealer tells me I need new pad and rotors. Take it to brake shop and they tell me all I need is pad. Brakes working fine right now but still squeak every now and then. They have replaced electrical harnesses that May catch on fire. The squeaking noise now has turned into other parts that are having to be replaced. …
On April 28, 2009 I have a tire failure while driving an a well maintained paved highway. Specifically, I had a sidewall failure on my right rear tire. Upon examination of the tire I found a "v" shaped failure in the sidewall of about one half inch. Closer examination revealed that the chords in the tire were frayed as opposed to being cut cleanly. During the first week of April 2011, I experienced another sidewall failure with the same "v" shaped break while traveling on a well maintained paved highway. I decided at that time to replace all four tires with ome tires and I kept the remaining three good tires. In February, 2012, I experienced a third sidewall failure with the same "v" shaped rupture in the sidewall of the left front tire. My mileage at this time was approximately 40500. …
Owner of a 2009 Dodge Journey sxt AWD with kumho solus kh16 tire 225/55r19 size stock tires. After experiencing complete right front tire failure while traveling approximately 45 MPH on a paved two-lane highway, owner installed the temporary spare tire. The vehicle's AWD light immediately illuminated. Owner ceased operating the vehicle and obtained the services of a tow company. Apparently, this vehicle cannot be driven with the spare tire supplied by the manufacturer as the AWD! Light illuminated. The owner's manual states the vehicle should be serviced right away when the AWD! Light illuminates. There is no caveat statement regarding driving to a close location for limited mileage. Moreover, the manual states the pto unit (aka AWD! Unit) will be damaged if the car is driven with the AWD! Light illuminated. Driving with the supplied temporary spare caused the AWD! Light to illuminate. …
