I did not have a accident. But I have had this car for only 15 months and I've had to take this car in for the same defect several times and many times over and over again especially the last 3 months. I've had it with this car and I can't deal with this any more. And Toyota of escondido where we bought the car can't seem to get it right or give us another car.
After backing our car out of the carport, we noticed a long thin piece of corroded metal laying on the ground. I got under the car and found that the fuel tank retaining straps were severely corroded, the one on the left side of the car had holes completely corroded through. The suspension components have heavy surface corrosion as well. I feel that if the automotive manufactures continue to use metal fuel tank retaining straps they should encase them in a non corrosive material. This would reduce the effects of corrosion and chafing of the fuel tank, this is a high vibration area. I contacted Chrysler via e-mail, their response was,( unfortunately we are unable to diagnose the situations you have outlined in your e-mail). I then contacted Chrysler by phone and told the representative about my situation. …
Squeek or grinding type noise coming from front shocks when going through dips or over speed bumps. Dealership pushes down on front end, says they don't hear it and refuses to investigate. Has been continuous since early ownership but getting louder with age/mileage.
Chassis integrity. The chassis mounts deteriotion in less than four years resulted in the struts malfunctioning, the transmission coolant lines leaking to the extent that the transmission could not be powered while driving on an interstate highway.
Tl contact owns a 1999 Chrysler Concorde. The contact stated that the ABS light illuminated and she heard a noise in the engine compartment. The mechanic stated that the pump motor circuit for the ABS failed and caused the light to illuminate. The approximate cost to repair the vehicle was between $1,500 to $2,000. The front rotors were replaced in April of 2006 and in September of 2007. In January of 2007, the front driver side bearing was replaced. The mechanic stated that the failure was due to poor design and cheap parts. The air conditioner also began to leak. The mechanic stated that there was a hole in the suction line because of the design, and it rusted and rubbed through another part of the vehicle. The air conditioning suction line was replaced in September of 2007. The leak could have potentially caused a fire. …
Dt: the contact stated that according to the mechanic at the local dealership, the hydraulic lift that holds up the trunk was not designed to hold the load. The trunk fell on him, but did not injure him. The dealership stated the hydraulic lifts need to be replaced on both sides. This has been happening since purchase of vehicle. Also, he stated the vehicle was low to the ground, the front end scraped when backing of the driveway or driving over a bump. He took the vehicle to two dealerships, and was willing to pay out of pocket. Both dealerships stated there was nothing that could be done. Updated 11/30/2005 -
This car has multiple problems. I find that the complaints with the windows are consistent e.g. Won't roll down on passenger side front and "off track" driver's side front. I have water collecting on the driver's side front after lots of rain. The molding on the car whether it be the headlights or around the doors does not stay in place. The trunk vent has been replaced and the struts and sway bar had to be replace shortly after the purchase.
