Approximately four weeks ago on 02/03/2026, during rainy conditions, the brakes on the vehicle did not function properly, creating a serious safety concern. At the same time, a hose connected broke and there was a strong burning smell coming from the vehicle. I also noticed fluid leaking from the vehicle. I immediately took the vehicle to the dealership for repair, and the vehicle remained there for approximately five days for inspection, parts, and repair. Additionally, this is now my third time bringing the vehicle in for service. During previous visits, I asked the service department about the condition of my brakes because they were making a squeaking noise and I was concerned about their performance. I was told by the service department that the brakes were fine, that I still had plenty of brake life remaining, and that the squeaking noise was normal. …
I am reporting a serious safety incident involving my 2024 Chevrolet Traverse RS AWD, with approximately 34,378 miles. On or about [redacted], while the vehicle was being driven near Sarasota Florida at approximately 25 mph, it suddenly lost propulsion and all electrical power. The instrument panel, displays and vehicle electrical systems went completely dark. The vehicle was completely dead and would not restart. Police subsequently jump-started it, but the vehicle's systems did not initially operate normally. This vehicle previously experienced another complete electrical-power failure while parked overnight, and the dealership has a record of that incident. Following the in-motion shutdown, the dealership performed a complete software flash using USB and stated that a software problem may have caused a parasitic battery draw. …
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, a strong unknown sound was noticed coming from the pipes in the front area. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and advised to take it to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
The exhaust pipe, gaskets and muffler. Yes, at times we do smell the exhaust inside the vehicle and a loud sound coming from the engine when the vehicle is in motion and on standby. Yes they were notified and are still waiting for parts to have it repaired. They advised to continue driving my car and refused to provide a rental to use during the downtime due to my 'issue' not covered by my warranty or extended warranty because my vehicle is over 36k miles. No warnings were on in the vehicle to notify me, I just noticed a weird sound as my car would start up when the vehicle is started and never stopped.
4021890 Fuel Pump- Is available for Inspection Upon Request Date Occurred: (07/25/22) 4050420 Exhaust Front Pipe- Is Available for Inspection Upon Request Date Occurred: (09/15/22) 4021890 occurring- While driving on the expressway going +70mph vehicle message came on, without any warning stating the following: "Service Parking Brake, Drive Assist in Active and Reducing Engine Power". Vehicle lost all power steering control, and the engine was "revving" as if the vehicle was placed in Neutral while trying to drive. Not only was my safety placed at risk during this occurrence, but that of my 5year old daughters as well who was traveling with me, when the power steering was inoperable at +70mph. This could have turned into a very ugly accident at the expense of the manufacturer. Dealership was able to "reproduce/confirm" issue. …
I am reporting a dangerous failure of the fuel supply control module in my vehicle, which caused the engine to stall and cut off during acceleration while driving in heavy, 45-60 mph traffic. While I was able to have the issue diagnosed and repaired by Newman's Auto-with an invoice available-I believe this 44,000-mile vehicle experienced a premature failure. Given that this component is currently recalled on similar Chevrolet SUVs and trucks, I believe this model should be included in the recall. I can be reached at [redacted] or [redacted] for further information.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard a rattling sound coming from the hood of the vehicle. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that a hole was in the exhaust and the exhaust needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she smelled a fuel odor throughout the vehicle. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to have the vehicle diagnosed and to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
the purge valve is ticking for the past two weeks dealership informed me yesterday that it is working as designed and no codes were noted by technician. ticking noises ( which are VERY annoying) were not present when vehicle was bought about 3 months ago . The service rep informed me that although purge valve issues have been noted and taken care of by other GM models., the traverse is not part of any recall at the moment
