The vehicle was ultimately stopped by a tree with damage to the tailgate and rear. The gear shift selector remained in park for the entire incident. A claim was filed with GM and the Traverse was initially labeled as a "intermittent failure" in my May 2026 claim interview. Post GM inspection, the vehicle is now deemed "operational" (no repairs from GM) and being returned to my family as of July 2026.
