I am writing to formally report a critical safety defect regarding the OnStar Telematics Control Module in my 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country VIN: [redacted] . My vehicle was recently diagnosed by SERRA CHEVROLET as having a failed module, which has rendered numerous essential features inoperative. This is not an isolated incident; there is clear evidence of a widespread failure affecting thousands of GM and Chevrolet owners. The failure of this module creates significant safety risks, including: * Loss of Emergency Services: The OnStar SOS button and automatic crash response are disabled, leaving me without a lifeline in the event of an accident. * Systemic Vehicle Malfunctions: This module is deeply integrated into the vehicle's architecture. Its failure has caused [list your specific issues, e.g., "Check Engine" lights, heads-up display failure, and battery drainage]. …

Vehicle continues to experience flashing air bag light and service self-restraint system warning. Brought in twice in 2025 for self-restraint system but dealer refuses to cover under warranty. On December 18, 2025, experienced complete power and electrical failure while in transit on a turning lane. The vehicle was unable to start, or open any windows, and the transmission would not shift back into park or neutral while obstructing traffic near an active railroad. Vehicle battery was replaced and was able to safely put vehicle into gear. Vehicle battery replacement allowed for normal driving; however, from that date on the transmission started shifting harder and jerkier. On December 31, 2025, vehicle was being driven on the freeway to then experience difficult shifting and reduced power. …

On May 9th, 2025 we had to have our 2022 Tahoe towed to the local dealership. There was a transmission error message and the battery was completely drained. The dealer put a new battery in it for $485 and we were told it was good to go. The next day, the car would not go into Reverse. Had to have it towed back to the dealership and was told that the Transmission failure was a recalled part and would be covered. Later we were called and told even though the part that had failed is in fact the same part in the open recall, that our VIN was not on the recall list and the cost to fix the vehicle would not be covered. …

About five days ago, my air bag sensors came on and a strange message on the 2022 Tahoe display. It said " Service Safety Restraint System" needs to be serviced. I received numerous messages from the app and computer system saying something is wrong. I took the Truck in to GMC Brandywine service in Brandywine, MD. I was told they couldn't fix it and GM knows it's an issue and may do a recall. I am riding with my son and grandkids in an Unsafe vehicle. I was told something is wrong with the computer. The way it's communicating the issue but nothing seems right with this truck. I had this truck in service for majority of my ownership for numerous defects. This airbag sensor has had issues in Jan 2022 and now it's back. They are not fixing these issues and could cost me or my family's life. I will upload the invoice later. I have to get it out of the truck. …

The vehicle shifted itself into neutral and shut off while driving. It happened twice in three days. The first time I was pulling into the driveway so I was able to put it in park and restart the car safely. The second time I was in the middle of traffic in Tampa and it shifted into neutral and shut off in the middle of the road. Luckily no cars hit me but again I had to apply the break , restart the car and put it back in drive. This was very scary and I had my kids with me. Earlier in the day I had been driving on 75 and if it had happened then it could have been a bad wreck. It shows there are no current recalls on my vehicle. No warning lights or messages appeared. Vehicle was purchased less than 30 days ago. I will contact the dealership to verify there are no open recalls just in case but again when I checked I found none.
