I heard noise from the front left wheel. Jacked up the truck and found the entire wheel loose. Took the truck to the dealership, they torqued the hub nut and said it was fine to drive. Took the truck on a trip and had constant problems and noise from that side of vehicle. Returned the truck to the dealer and was told it needed a new hub but was OK to drive. Drove to a conference 200miles away and broke down. Towed the truck to a different dealer and was told that both hubs needed to be replaced. The truck has 75K miles on it. I was told by service advisors at both dealerships that they had seen this problem several times on this model truck. I asked if GM was looking at a possible recall and got a negative. …

On August 25, going to work from a late lunch, I experienced a blowout on the right front tire. When the tire blew in threwmy truck into a large curb ruining the bumber, right front corner panel, parts of the door as well as suspension bendage, and ruining both wheels. Between me and my insurance company it cost almost 3000.00 to fix., besides me having to make a claim which wll probably raise my insurance rates. 2 weeks later the news came out that 16" general tires were being recalled because of this problem on the Lincoln navigators. I am interested if there have been any other of these tires recalled, because of not only the money im out of pocket, but the depreciation it caused my truck(not to mention I could have been injured severely because of this blowout. Please advise me, meantime I will contact my insurance company and my lawyer. Thanks. …

Ltr fm audrey wissinger (pa) concerned about the problems she experienced with her 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Both front/rear rotors had to be replaced. The old brake linings were replaced with new ones. The rotors were literally falling apart-inferior metal. Dealer stated this was the result of the vehicle not being driven enough. There was a terrible "kluncking" sound in the rear end or drive shaft. This happened in a downshift or upshift. The dealer stated it was normal play in the drivetrain. All four wheels had to be replaced at 6000 miles because they were rusted. Tailgate strap broke at 17000 miles. When the 4-wheel drive was engaged, it made a terrible growling that didn't seem normal.

Dt: the contact stated the ABS sensor has been replaced twice. This failure almost caused two accidents. Both ABS sensors malfunctioned within 10,000 miles. The dealership replaced the first sensor because it was oxidized to the hub assembly. The second sensor was cleaned. There was a NHTSA recall campaign 05V379000 concerning the anti lock brakes, but the contact's state was not included in the recall. The tire were cupped and had to be replaced due to a vibration coming from the vehicle. Updated 01/11/06.

At 36,900 miles I had the rear and front pinion berrings replaced on my drive train. I also replaced the tires which were worn out. The vehicle is not driven much (4.5 years old) as indicated by the mileage. I also experienced my accelorator being "stiff" when I attempt to depress it. I think GM needs to look into their shoddy transmission components. I also had the rear seal replaced at approximately 10,000 miles.

Attempted to stop at 10 MPH driving straight antilock brake system activated, had no brakes, put transmission into 1st gear stopped 1 foot from building. Almost went through plate glass window! I just changed both my front antilock sensor's and had no effect on the loss of the brakes, they just pulsed. Owned this vehicle since 2001 and have had two antilock brake computers replaces at a cost of $800.00 each time.

The spare tire hoist cable broke, and the spare tire dropped onto the highway. It bounced at least 10 feet in the air, narrowly missing cars driving the opposite direction. Luckily it rolled to the shoulder without hitting anything. I had never used the spare, nor lowered the hoist mechanism. This tire weighs ~75 pounds and could have easily killed a passing motorist.
